Shirt condition

Excellent condition

Excellent condition for a 2008 piece: no stains, no fading, the gold still bright. One point flagged in full transparency — a very light micro snag in the fabric on the back (see photo 6), with no hole through the material. The TAIWO No.3 printing and the sleeve patches are intact.

✦ Lifetime authenticity guarantee

  • adidas Marseille 2008 authentication: original inner label with product code 314350 and 03/08 date stamp (photo 4) — verifiable on your side, correct embroidered "Droit au But" crest (photo 3), period heat-pressed n9uf sponsor, official UEFA Cup patches
  • Real photos of the exact item sold, never stock images
  • Full method: authentication guide

🛠️ Workshop note — Two markers to know: the "n9uf" sponsor (the French telecom brand disappeared after merging with SFR — it dates the shirt almost to the month) and the UEFA Cup patches, which only exist up to 2009 since the competition then became the Europa League. A long-sleeve version on top of that: far rarer than the short sleeve.

📖 2008-2009: Gerets' Marseille and the last UEFA Cup

This gold long-sleeve third is one of the most distinctive shirts in Marseille's recent history: not white, not blue, but gold. It belongs to the 2008-2009 season, when the club returned to the front rank under Éric Gerets.

🥈 Ligue 1 runners-up 2008-2009. Marseille finished second behind Bordeaux, their best league finish in several seasons — and the springboard to the 2010 title.

🏆 The last UEFA Cup in history. 2008-2009 was the final edition of the UEFA Cup before it became the Europa League. The trophy patches on this shirt will therefore never be reissued.

👑 Taye Taiwo — Nigerian left-back at Marseille from 2005 to 2011, remembered at the Vélodrome for the sheer power of his shooting and his free kicks. A cult player for that generation of supporters.

🎯 Who is this shirt for?

← Scroll →

01

The Marseille supporter

The gold third, the n9uf sponsor, the Gerets era: three markers of a season Marseille fans have not forgotten.

02

The long-sleeve collector

Long-sleeve versions were made in far smaller numbers. In XL and in 9.5/10 condition, this is a genuine find.

03

The lover of extinct patches

The UEFA Cup has not existed since 2009. A shirt still wearing its official patches is dated forever.

04

A gift that lands

A gold shirt, long sleeves, with a cult player's printing: not the kind of piece you can give twice.

Not sure? My Mystery Box offer is a great alternative — just add "Marseille" in the order notes.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Is the shirt 100% authentic?

Yes. Original adidas label photographed with product code 314350 (photo 4) — a code you can verify yourself. Embroidered crest, period n9uf sponsor, correct UEFA Cup patches. Real photos of the exact item sold, lifetime authenticity guarantee.

Is it really a long-sleeve shirt?

Yes, this is the long-sleeve version of the 2008-2009 gold third (photos 1 and 2). These were produced in far smaller quantities than the short-sleeve version, which makes them noticeably harder to find today.

What are the sleeve patches?

They are the official UEFA Cup badges, worn in that season's European matches. 2008-2009 was the last edition of that competition before it became the Europa League — these patches can no longer be produced.

Is the micro snag a problem?

No, it is a very light surface snag in the back fabric, with no hole through the material and no pulled thread visible from a distance. I photographed it close up (photo 6) rather than leaving it out — it is the only reason this shirt is graded 9.5 rather than 10.

How much is shipping and how fast?

Shipped within 48 working hours with tracked Colissimo (€5.99 within mainland France, free over €100). International rates and delivery times are detailed in my shipping FAQ. 14-day returns if unworn.
