Perfect condition
The gold is even across the whole shirt, with no fading at the collar or cuffs. The black adidas shoulder stripes and the black wave on the side are sharp, and the embroidered sky-blue crest is intact. The TAIWO 3 lettering and the sleeve badge lie perfectly flat. No flaws to report.

Workshop note — On 2008 adidas shirts, I first read the small batch label: code 314275 and the date 03/08 point to a spring 2008 production, right before the 2008-2009 season.
Gerets’ gold OM third
For the 2008-2009 season, adidas gave OM a gold third shirt, used mostly on European nights. The club, coached by Eric Gerets, played the Champions League group stage.
Third in their group, OM dropped into the UEFA Cup in spring 2009, hence the sleeve badge. The run ended in the quarter-finals against Shakhtar Donetsk, the eventual winners.
May 2009: OM finished second in Ligue 1, three points behind Girondins de Bordeaux.
Taye Taiwo, the Nigerian left-back, wore the number 3 in Marseille from 2005 to 2011. He was known for his powerful left foot and was part of the 2010 title-winning side.
Frequently asked questions
Why a gold shirt?
It is the third shirt of the 2008-2009 season, used mostly in European games. Its gold and black colours stand out from OM’s usual white and blue.
Does the UEFA Cup badge match the season?
Yes: after dropping out of the Champions League, OM played the UEFA Cup in spring 2009, up to the quarter-finals. The badge is consistent with this 2008-2009 shirt.
How can I check the shirt is authentic?
Look at the inner batch label: code 314275 and date 03/08, which you can check yourself. Then check the crest embroidery and the finish of the shoulder stripes.
How does this L fit?
It measures 50 cm pit to pit and 75 cm in length, with long sleeves. If you wear a regular L, it will fit you without being loose.
