8.5/10
Shirt condition
Very good condition
For a 2005 shirt, the white has held up very well. The Neuf Telecom sponsor is complete with no cracking, the sky blue cross is sharp, the embroidered crest and its gold star are flawless, and the black sleeve trims are intact. I gave it 8.5/10 for a few tiny brown dots on one sleeve (photo 6).

Workshop note — The 08/05 date on the label matches the start of the 2005-2006 season exactly. The gold star above the crest, for the 1993 Champions League, is embroidered in the same gold thread as the motto.
Ribéry, summer 2005 and the Vélodrome
Franck Ribéry arrived in Marseille in summer 2005 from Galatasaray. Within a few months, the attacking midfielder became the Vélodrome's darling with his dribbling and pace.
29 April 2006: Coupe de France final at the Stade de France, OM lose 2-1 to PSG.
May 2006: Raymond Domenech picks him for the World Cup in Germany. Ribéry scores against Spain in the round of 16, and France go all the way to the final.
This white home shirt with the sky blue cross is from his first season at OM, with the 7 he made famous in Marseille.
Frequently asked questions
Are the dots on the sleeve visible?
Up close, yes: a few small brown dots below the LFP patch (photo 6). From a distance, the sleeve looks clean.
Was the LFP patch added?
Yes, the sleeve patch was applied in my workshop. It is not used as proof of authenticity: that relies on the label, the crest and the construction of the shirt.
How can I check the shirt is authentic?
Look at the small inner label: code 110236 should appear under the 08/05 date. Then check the embroidery of the crest, the star and the gold-thread motto.
How does this XL fit?
Loose, like the cuts of the time: 58 cm pit to pit and 80 cm long. If you wear a fitted L, it will also suit you with a more relaxed drape.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
Shipped within 24-48 h with tracking: €5.99 in France, €9.99 to the EU, free from €99.99. You have 14 days to send the shirt back if it doesn't suit you. All the details in my shipping FAQ.
