The gold has kept all its shine, with no dull areas or pulled threads. The three black shoulder stripes are crisp, the sponsor logo is complete and the embroidered crest shows no wear. I found no defect: I only hold back half a point for the normal traces of a shirt that has been worn.

Checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If a piece bought from me ever turned out not to be authentic, I refund it in full. A guarantee with no expiry: only original pieces, never modern reissues.
Label and product code: code 314350, date 07/08 and factory reference APU002, sewn next to the adidas care label (photo 4)
OM crest: sky blue M, star and « Droit au but » motto embroidered in relief, clean outlines (photo 3)
adidas logo: performance logo embroidered in black, lying flat on the gold (photo 3)
Cut and finish: black V-neck on ribbed collar, mesh panel at the nape, black side panels stitched in (photos 1 and 2)
Workshop note — On 2008 adidas shirts, I always read the small separate label: model code, month and year of production, then factory reference, on three lines. Here all three match the season. The long sleeve version is the less common cut of this third. The name, number and UEFA Cup patch were applied in my workshop: I never use them as proof.
Marseille 2008-2009, a title missed by a whisker
Under Eric Gerets, OM played one of their best seasons of the decade. Marseille led the title race into spring and only gave way on the final day to Girondins de Bordeaux.
French runners-up. OM finished second in Ligue 1, three points behind Bordeaux, with Mamadou Niang leading the line.
Brandão against his former club. Signed from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2008, the Brazilian striker met the Ukrainians again in the UEFA Cup quarter-finals: Shakhtar knocked Marseille out and went on to lift the trophy.
This gold third, worn notably on European trips, remains one of the most recognisable shirts of the Gerets era.
The BRANDAO 9 name and number and the UEFA Cup patch were applied in my workshop. I never count them among the proofs of authenticity: those relate to the shirt only.
Do the long sleeves change the size?
No, the body is the same as the short sleeve version: 50 cm pit to pit and 74 cm long. The sleeves reach the wrist on a size S frame.
How can I check the shirt is authentic?
Look at the small inside label: 07/08, 314350 and APU002. This model code matches the OM 2008-2009 third shirt, and you can check it online yourself.
How does this S fit?
Slim, like adidas cuts of the time. If you wear S on the high street, it will fit close to the body; between two sizes, compare with the flat measurements.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
Shipped within 24-48 h with tracking: €5.99 in France, €9.99 to the EU, free from €99.99. You have 14 days to return the shirt if it does not suit you. All the details in my shipping FAQ.
