L'Atelier Pure: Our Authentication Process

The vintage jersey market is a jungle. Between modern reissues, questionable counterfeits, and unscrupulous sellers, it's hard to know what you're really buying.

At Pure Football Shirts, we have a golden rule: "If we have a doubt, it doesn't go into stock." Every jersey that arrives in our workshop undergoes a strict 3-step verification protocol. Here's how we work.

1. Code Verification (The Jersey's DNA)

This is the first safety barrier. For jerseys produced after the 2000s (Nike, Adidas, Puma...), each piece has a unique product code on its internal label.

We systematically check these codes (MPN) in official databases. If a Brazil 2002 jersey code refers to a training short or a pair of socks: it's a fake. It is immediately rejected.

2. The "Touch" Examination (Vintage Expertise)

For older jerseys (80s/90s), codes didn't always exist. This is where experience comes in.

We analyze:

• The material: The heavy polyester of the 90s has nothing to do with the light synthetic fabric of modern copies.
• The seams: We inspect the hem, collar, and finishes. Counterfeits often have irregular or fragile seams.
• The logos: Embroidery, felt, raised flocking... We know the manufacturing techniques of each era.

3. Washing and Preparation

A vintage jersey has a history; it has been worn, it has lived. But it must arrive to you in impeccable condition.

Before being put online, each jersey is carefully washed (hand wash for fragile items), air-dried, and ironed if necessary. We don't just sell a garment; we sell a collector's item ready to be worn or framed.
