Shirt condition
Perfect condition
Nothing to report. The anthracite is still deep with no faded sheen, and the orange of the stripes, collar and cuffs has not lost any colour. The Intersport sponsor is complete, with no cracking or lifting edges, and the Climacool knit shows no pilling anywhere. The GIGNAC 9 printing is smooth and lies perfectly flat.

Item checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If an item bought from me ever turned out not to be authentic, I refund it in full. A guarantee with no expiry: only original pieces, never modern re-editions.
- adidas inner label: date 02/12, model code W50424 and factory code APU002, crisply printed on the satin (photo 4)
- Embroidered OM crest: raised orange monogram, star above and « Droit au but » motto embroidered below, tight stitching with no loose threads (photo 3)
- Fabric: fine Climacool knit, orange mesh panel visible inside the collar, clean seam across the chest (photos 2 and 3)
- Cut and finish: orange embroidered adidas logo, three stripes stitched on the shoulders, graphic pattern on the cuffs and Climacool logo at the bottom front (photo 2)
Workshop note — W50424 is the adidas reference for OM's 2012-2013 third shirt, and the 02/12 date places its production a few months before the season launch. The telling detail: the « Planète Mars » artwork printed inside the collar, specific to this model. The printing and sleeve badges were applied in my workshop, so I never use them as proof: my expertise covers the shirt itself.
Gignac and Élie Baup's OM
André-Pierre Gignac joined Marseille in summer 2010 from Toulouse, where he had finished as Ligue 1 top scorer in 2008-2009. After two mixed seasons, the striker won back his starting place at the tip of the OM attack in 2012-2013.
14 April 2012, Stade de France. OM beat Lyon 1-0 after extra time in the Coupe de la Ligue final, with a goal from Brandão. The trophy opened the door to the Europa League for the following season.
In summer 2012, Élie Baup succeeded Didier Deschamps on the bench. With Valbuena, André Ayew and Gignac up front, Marseille reached the Europa League group stage, where they faced Fenerbahçe and Borussia Mönchengladbach among others, without making it through.
In the league, however, OM put together a solid season and finished second in Ligue 1, earning a direct return to the Champions League. This anthracite and orange third, one of the most striking of the adidas era, belongs to that campaign.
Frequently asked questions
What is the drawing inside the collar?
It is a « Planète Mars » artwork, a nod to the Marseille nickname made popular by the rap group IAM. It is printed on the orange panel inside the collar and shows as soon as the collar is open on the hanger.
Are the printing and patches original?
The GIGNAC 9 printing and the Europa League and Respect badges were applied in my workshop. They are new and lie flat, but I never count them among the proofs of authenticity: those cover the shirt only.
How can I check the shirt is authentic?
Look at the small inner label: code W50424 and the date 02/12 must be on it. The crest must be raised embroidery with the « Droit au but » motto, and the collar artwork must be there.
How does this L fit?
True to size: 56 cm pit to pit and 75 cm long. If you wear L on the high street, it will fit you without surprises, with a straight cut that is not tight.
