A vintage jersey has a soul. It may have seen stadiums, celebrations, or repeated washes. This is what gives it its charm, but it can also be a cause for concern.

At Pure Football Shirts, transparency is absolute. No more unpleasant surprises upon unpacking. We rate each jersey out of 10 according to a strict scale, so you know exactly what you're buying.

🏆 10/10: NEW CONDITION

Absolute perfection.

The jersey is strictly new. It has no flaws. Sometimes, it even still has its original tags (BNWT - Brand New With Tags).

  • Flaws: None.
  • Verdict: A perfect piece, untouched by time.

🥇 9.5/10: PERFECT CONDITION

The excellence of vintage.

The jersey is visually perfect, with no apparent flaws. Why not 10/10? Because it has already been worn. For jerseys from before 2020, even if they are impeccable, we prefer to be honest: a worn jersey cannot be "new".

  • Flaws: No visible flaws, just the history of having been worn.
  • Verdict: Impossible to tell the difference from new once worn.

🥈 9/10: EXCELLENT CONDITION

Close to perfection.

The jersey is superb, the color is vibrant. It still looks magnificent, but a meticulous inspection may reveal a tiny detail due to its age.

  • Possible flaws: A micro bobble, a very slightly pulled thread or a slightly creased inner label.
  • Verdict: A collector's item for 99% of fans.

🥉 8/10 & 8.5/10: VERY GOOD CONDITION

Authentic vintage.

This jersey remains in excellent overall condition and presents very well. This is often where you find the best deals for wearing to the stadium.

  • Possible flaws: A tiny hole (pinhead size), a small discreet stain, or a very slightly faded sponsor.
  • Note: These minor flaws are always indicated.

⚽️ 7/10: GOOD CONDITION (Well-traveled)

A jersey with a visible history.

This jersey has a visible history. It has been worn or washed many times. It remains an official and cool piece to wear, but it is not meant to be framed.

  • Present flaws: Visible signs of wear, bobbles, snags or tired sponsors.
  • Verdict: The price is adjusted accordingly.
