📖 2009-2010: the start of the Etihad era at Manchester City
2009-2010 marked the first modern-era Manchester City shirt to carry the Etihad Airways sponsor, a symbol of the club's new ambitions following its takeover by an Abu Dhabi investment group in late 2008. On this historic sky blue shirt, the N°10 belonged to one of the very first marquee signings of the “new” Manchester City.
👑 Robinho — Brazilian forward born in 1984, signed by Manchester City in September 2008 for a club-record transfer fee at the time, from Real Madrid. His signing was a landmark moment, seen as the first symbol of the club's financial ambitions after the takeover. This N°10 shirt is a piece from the very earliest years of the new Citizens era, before the club's rise to the top of English and European football the following decade.
