Manchester City 2012-2013 Home Shirt - Kompany No.4 (XL)

This shirt has never been worn: the Umbro shop tag is still hanging from the collar (photo 5). The sky blue is bright, the Etihad Airways sponsor is intact and the knit shows no pilling anywhere. I rate it 9/10 rather than 10/10 because of two small dark marks at the bottom of the shirt (photo 7).

A never-worn shirt with the Umbro shop tag still attached (photo 5). The KOMPANY 4 printing and the champions badges were applied afterwards in my workshop, and two small dark marks sit at the bottom of the shirt (photo 7): that is why I do not sell it as new.

Kompany, captain of the champions

Signed from Hamburg in 2008, Vincent Kompany became Manchester City captain and led the club to its first English title since 1968. On 30 April 2012, he scored the only goal of the derby against Manchester United with a header (1-0), a decisive match in the title race.

13 May 2012, Etihad Stadium. On the final day, Sergio Agüero scored in stoppage time against QPR (3-2) and gave City the title on goal difference.

In 2012-2013, City wore this shirt as reigning champions, with the gold badges on the sleeves. The season opened in August 2012 with a 3-2 win over Chelsea in the Community Shield. In the league, Roberto Mancini's side finished second behind Manchester United.

On 11 May 2013, City lost the FA Cup final to Wigan (0-1) at Wembley. Mancini left the club a few days later, and Umbro handed over to Nike for the following season.
