For a shirt that is almost twenty years old, the wear is minimal. The black is still deep, the sky blue trims are strong, and the embroidered crest is intact. The RICHARDS 2 lettering lies flat. Just one thing to mention: light cracking on the Thomas Cook sponsor (photo 6), normal for a print of this era.

100% AUTHENTIC
✦ Lifetime authenticity guarantee
Checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If a piece bought from me ever turned out not to be authentic, I refund it in full. No expiry: only original pieces, never modern reissues.
Inner Reebok label (photo 4): multilingual care label sewn into the side seam, consistent with Reebok shirts of this period
Embroidered eagle crest: gold eagle, MCFC shield, three stars and the Superbia in Proelio motto, dense embroidery (photo 3)
Fabric: tone-on-tone graphic pattern built into the front knit, with open-mesh areas
Cut and finish: light grey V-neck, shoulder panels with sky blue piping, embroidered Rbk logo
Workshop note — The label on this Reebok has faded with washing and its code is no longer legible. For this era, I then rely on the embroidered eagle crest, the woven tone-on-tone pattern and the construction of the shoulder panels, three elements that are hard to reproduce.
Micah Richards, a young City star emerges
In 2006-2007, Manchester City were far from their title-winning era. Stuart Pearce led a side that finished 14th in the Premier League and scored only ten league goals at home, a record low.
15 November 2006, in Amsterdam. Micah Richards, a product of the club's academy, won his first England cap against the Netherlands. At 18, he became the youngest defender in England's history.
Powerful and quick, the defender was one of the few bright spots of City's season.
This black Reebok away shirt with the Thomas Cook sponsor belongs to the era before the club's 2008 takeover.
Up close, yes: they are fine lines in the white print (photo 6). At a normal distance, the Thomas Cook logo looks clean. Wash the shirt inside out at 30 °C to preserve it.
Why a black City shirt?
The home shirt is sky blue. For the 2006-2007 away kit, Reebok chose a deep black lifted with sky blue, to keep a link with the club colours.
How can I check the shirt is authentic?
The label has faded, so look mainly at the eagle crest embroidery, the tone-on-tone pattern woven into the knit and the stitched shoulder panels.
How does this M fit?
Small: 45 cm pit to pit and 66 cm in length. It suits someone who wears S, or a very slim M who likes a close fit.
