📖 2017: the year France discovered Mbappé
This black third shirt — the first black shirt in the history of the French national team — lands at a turning point: Les Bleus grab their ticket to Russia, and an 18-year-old kid from Bondy is about to change the course of French football. On this shirt there is still one single star. A few months later there would be two — largely thanks to the player printed on the back.
📅 25 March 2017 — Luxembourg 1-3 France. Kylian Mbappé, 18 years and 3 months old, comes off the bench and becomes the youngest French international since 1955. The start of a story nobody could stop.
📅 31 August 2017 — France 4-0 Netherlands. Mbappé's first goal for France, at the Stade de France, in the middle of the World Cup qualifiers — the first of a run that would make him the all-time top scorer of the French national team.
📅 Summer 2017 — the French transfer of the century. Monaco → PSG for 180 million euros: Mbappé becomes the most expensive French player in history, at 18. The 2017-2018 season — this shirt's season — is his first in Paris and with Les Bleus. The last one before worldwide glory.
📅 July 2018 — World Champion. The #12 of the qualifiers becomes the #10 of the title: 4 goals in the tournament, a goal in the final against Croatia — the youngest scorer in a World Cup final since Pelé in 1958. This shirt is the picture taken right before: the exact moment everything changed.
