The red is bold and even, the red-white-blue shoulder stripes are sharp and the embroidered rooster has kept all its gold. The THURAM 15 nameset and the chest number are complete. One point to note: at the bottom of the shirt, a small heat-applied tag has come off and left a lighter mark (photo 6).

At the bottom of the front, a small heat-applied tag has come off and left a lighter oval mark of about 3 cm (photo 6). The fabric is neither pierced nor damaged, and the mark sits below the waistband when the shirt is tucked in.

Workshop note — On adidas shirts from this era, the small satin tag sewn next to the composition label carries the date and article code. Here, 11/07 and 618916 match production at the end of 2007, just before Euro 2008, and the rooster embroidered in gold metallic thread matches the model of the season.
Lilian Thuram, France's record cap holder
A defender for Monaco, Parma, Juventus and then FC Barcelona, Lilian Thuram wore the blue shirt from 1994 to 2008. He won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000 with France.
8 July 1998, Stade de France. In the World Cup semi-final, Thuram scores twice against Croatia and sends France to the final (2-1). They would be his only two goals for his country.
Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland was his last tournament. Les Bleus went out in the group stage, in a group with the Netherlands, Italy and Romania, and Thuram ended his international career with 142 caps, a national record until Hugo Lloris passed it in 2022.
Frequently asked questions
Is the mark at the bottom of the shirt noticeable?
You can spot it up close, with the shirt laid flat (photo 6). When worn, it sits at the very bottom of the front and disappears if you tuck the shirt in.
Why is there a star above the rooster?
It celebrates the 1998 World Cup title. In 2008, France had only one; the second came after the 2018 triumph.
How can I check the shirt is authentic?
Look at the small inner tag: date 11/07 and code 618916. Then check the gold embroidery of the rooster and the tricolour stripes stitched on the shoulders.
How does this S fit?
True to size in width (50 cm pit to pit) and on the long side (75 cm). It will suit an S, or a slim M who likes a close fit.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
Shipped within 24-48 h with tracking: €5.99 in France, €9.99 to the EU, free from €99.99. You have 14 days to return the shirt if it does not suit you. All the details in my shipping FAQ.
