Lay flat a shirt that fits you well, measure it the same way and compare — vintage sizing is often different from modern kits. 1990s Kappa shirts have a straight, roomy cut: that's the period fit.

For a piece more than thirty years old, the condition is remarkable. The blaugrana colours are strong, not washed out. The purple polo collar and the white Kappa tape on the shoulders are crisp. The embroidered crest is intact, with no pulled threads. The only flaw, flagged in full transparency: two very small snags in the knit of the blue panel, low on the shirt (visible in photo 6). They don't go through the fabric, they aren't spreading and they're invisible when worn — but I'd always rather show you than let you discover them.

• Period Kappa neck label carrying both the Kappa logo and the club crest, with the Catalan wording « HOMOLOGAT F.C. BARCELONA » (photo 4) — the club's official licence, in Catalan, a detail fakes almost always print in Spanish or English
• Second label reading « STYLED BY M.C.T. ITALY » with the Italian house's embroidered logo, plus a separate « L » size tab (photo 5): the exact labelling structure of Kappa production from this generation
• Jacquard fabric with the word « Barça » and Kappa's Omini logo woven into the knit across the whole surface, visible in raking light (photos 2 and 6): a costly industrial process counterfeits don't replicate

📖 1992-1995: the Dream Team shirt

Few shirts sum up an era as neatly as this one. Blaugrana, purple polo collar, no sponsor, an embroidered crest and nothing else: this is the shirt of Johan Cruyff's Barcelona, the team that invented the club's modern football and made it win in Europe for the first time.

📅 20 May 1992, Wembley — Barcelona 1-0 Sampdoria. A Ronald Koeman free kick in extra time. FC Barcelona won the first European Cup in their history. The shirt you're looking at belongs to the generation of kits that came immediately after that title.

📅 1991 to 1994 — four consecutive Liga titles. Under Cruyff, Barcelona won the Spanish league four years running. An unprecedented run for the club, driven by Koeman, Stoichkov, Bakero, Laudrup, Guardiola — and Romario from 1993.

📅 8 January 1994 — Barcelona 5-0 Real Madrid. The defining Clasico of the decade, with a Romario hat-trick at the Camp Nou. That season the Brazilian finished as La Liga's top scorer with 30 goals.
