Olympique Lyonnais 2007-2008 Away Shirt - Govou No.14 (XL)

This shirt is 18 years old and it has been lived in. Two things to know, both photographed: light wear on the “Ticket Restaurant” sponsor print on the front (photo 6) and a tiny mark below the sponsor (photo 7). Nothing you'd notice from a metre away, but I'd rather you knew before ordering than when you open the parcel.

📐 Flat measurements

Lay flat a shirt that fits you well, measure it the same way and compare — vintage often sizes differently from new, and mid-2000s cuts are noticeably roomier than today's.

The gold is what made me buy it: still bright and metallic, without the drift towards dull beige you see on most examples from this season. The GOVOU No.14 nameset in red with gold outline is intact, both LFP patches on the number are crisp, the embroidered OL crest is flawless and the Novotel band on the back has neither cracked nor lifted. The two reservations are on the front, and only there: the “Ticket Restaurant” sponsor shows light print wear (photo 6), and a tiny dark mark remains just below it (photo 7). Collar, cuffs and side seams are sound, with no distortion or snags.

• Fully embroidered OL crest (photo 3): sharp relief, even gold outline, lion and lettering clean right down to the small “OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS” type. Copies of this shirt almost always give themselves away here, with a printed crest or embroidery that bleeds
• Two LFP patches built into the base of the number: the signature of the French league version. They are part of the original nameset, not badges added afterwards
• Dual Accor sponsorship — Ticket Restaurant on the front, Novotel on the back: exactly how OL lined up in this period. A shirt with only one of the two, or a different pairing, is not from this season
• Complete original label (photo 4): XL size marking and bilingual French/English care instructions, stitched rather than printed

📖 Lyon in gold, at the peak of the dynasty

A gold shirt is never an accident. In 2007, OL are the most dominant side Ligue 1 has ever known, and away from home they dress the part.

🏆 Season 2007-2008 — the seventh title in a row. OL are crowned French champions for the 7th consecutive year, a run nobody has matched since in the league.

🥇 The double. That same season, Lyon win the Coupe de France. League and national cup in the same year: the high point of the era.

🦁 Govou, pure academy product. Trained at the club, Sidney Govou spent most of his career at OL and was part of the France squad that reached the 2006 World Cup final. A first-team nameset, not a random name.

✨ An away kit the club never repeated — all-over gold, blue V-neck, red trim: Umbro produced one of the most recognisable shirts in OL's recent history, and probably the most sought-after of its away kits.
