The tip that prevents returns: lay flat a shirt that fits you well, measure it the same way and compare. Vintage often fits differently from new.

10/10

Shirt condition

Like new

Honestly, this one is flawless. No holes, no stains, no bobbling, no fading: the check pattern is crisp, the AON print and the Rooney No.10 nameset are intact, with no lifting at the edges (look at photos 5 and 6, shot close up on purpose). Twelve years after its release, it looks like a shirt straight out of the box.

100% AUTHENTIC

✦ Authenticity guaranteed for life

Every piece is checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If a shirt bought from me is ever identified as a counterfeit, I refund it in full. Guarantee with no expiry date.

  • Original Nike inner label photographed (photo 4): product code 532838-411, size L. That is Nike's official code for this model — you can cross-check it yourself in the football shirt databases.
  • Tonal woven Manchester United crest matching the 2013-2014 model (photo 3), heat-pressed Nike swoosh, check jacquard woven into the fabric rather than printed
  • Authentic gold Barclays Premier League Champions patches, with the golden lion reserved for the reigning champion
  • Full method: authentication guide

🛠️ Workshop note — A detail few people notice: the number 10 has two small Premier League lions built into the digits (photo 5). That is the signature of the league's official font in this era — a nameset bought from a generic website never has it.

📖 2013-2014: the last time United wore the gold patches

This shirt belongs to a pivotal season, and that is exactly why I recommend it to collectors. Manchester United wore it as the reigning English champion — hence the gold patches on the sleeves. Except the club has never won the Premier League again since. The result: this is the last shirt in the club's history to carry that gold patch.

📅 May 2013 — Ferguson leaves. Sir Alex Ferguson steps down after 26 years and a 13th Premier League title. David Moyes takes over in the summer of 2013: this shirt is the one from that transition, the first season of the post-Ferguson era.

📅 February 2014 — Rooney signs on. With the season going badly on the pitch, Wayne Rooney signs a new long-term contract and becomes the face of the club in the storm. The No.10 he wears on this shirt stayed his until he left in 2017.

📅 2014 — the end of the AON era. This was the final season with AON on the chest (photo 6): Chevrolet took over from 2014-2015. Two trademarks disappear at the same time on this shirt — the AON sponsor and the champions patches.

👑 Wayne Rooney — he arrived at Old Trafford aged 18 in 2004 and left in 2017 as Manchester United's all-time leading goalscorer, passing Sir Bobby Charlton's record. He also held England's goalscoring record for years. His period match namesets, in excellent condition and with the correct official font, are drying up fast.

🎯 Who is this shirt for?

← Scroll →

01

The United fan

You want a piece from the last glory era, not a shirt from the trophyless decade. The gold patches on the sleeves answer that question on their own.

02

The Rooney collector

Club record goalscorer, No.10 in the official Premier League font, like-new condition. Hard to do better on this player.

03

The pattern lover

The black and navy tartan is one of the most recognisable Nike designs of the 2010s. Worn as streetwear, it looks like no other shirt.

04

The no-risk gift

A 10/10 in size L is the easy gift: no flaw to explain, a size that suits most people, and a story to tell when it is unwrapped.

Not sure? My Mystery Box offer is a great alternative — just add “Manchester United” in the order notes.

❓ Frequently asked questions about this shirt

Is the shirt 100% authentic?

Yes, and you can verify it without taking my word for it: the original Nike inner label is photographed (photo 4) with product code 532838-411, which corresponds to the Manchester United 2013-2014 away shirt in size L. Woven crest, check jacquard in the fabric, official Premier League patches. Lifetime authenticity guarantee.

What do the gold patches on the sleeves mean?

They are the Barclays Premier League “Champions” patches, reserved for the reigning champion. United wore them in 2013-2014 after the title won in Sir Alex Ferguson's final season. Since the club has not won the league again, no later United shirt carries that gold patch.

Is the Rooney nameset original?

It is done in the official Premier League font of the era, with the lions built into the digits (visible in photo 5) — a detail generic namesets never have. The edges are perfectly bonded, with no lifting or cracking.

How does this Nike shirt fit in size L?

Actual flat measurements: 56 cm pit to pit and 75 cm in length. It is a classic 2010s L, neither slim nor oversized. The safest approach is to compare with a shirt you already wear — more benchmarks in my sizing guide.

Is there only one of these?

Yes. Every shirt I sell is a single piece, photographed exactly as it is. Once this one is gone, it does not come back: I never restock an identical second-hand model.

How much is shipping and how long does it take?

Dispatched within 48 working hours with tracked Colissimo delivery (€5.99 in mainland France, free from €100). International rates and delivery times are detailed in my shipping FAQ. Returns accepted within 14 days if unworn.
