📐 Flat measurements

Width (pit to pit)47 cm
Length (shoulder to hem)69 cm

Lay a shirt that fits you well flat, measure it the same way and compare — vintage often sizes differently from new. On a long-sleeve, also compare the sleeve length against something you already wear.

Mint condition

No flaws. The heather blue is perfectly even — on a melange knit like this, any rubbed area shows up lighter, and there are none. The elbows, the classic weak point on a long-sleeve, are intact, with no thinning and no pilling. The three red shoulder stripes are bright, the crew neck holds its shape and the Premier League patches are firmly attached. Inner labels complete and legible.

100% AUTHENTIC

✦ Authenticity guaranteed for life

Item checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If a piece bought from me is ever identified as a fake, I refund it in full. Guarantee with no expiry date.

  • Inner label photographed (photo 4): reference AI6703 and production date 04/16. April 2016, the run produced for the 2016-2017 season
  • The blue is heathered in the fibre, not printed: look at photo 2 — the knit mixes blue yarns of two intensities, which creates that irregular marbled effect. Copies reproduce the pattern in print, and it then repeats identically from one area to the next
  • "THE RED DEVILS" screen-printed under the back collar, in red on navy. A detail replicas regularly forget
  • Raised embroidered crest: the red devil with its trident and the two footballs on the badge are stitched thread by thread, red on red. On a copy the whole thing is heat-pressed and the trident disappears
  • Real photos of the exact shirt for sale, never stock images — full method in my authentication guide

🛠️ Workshop note — Something few buyers know: on a long-sleeve shirt, condition is judged at the elbows, not on the chest. That's the area that rubs against everything — tables, armrests, bags — and on a heather knit like this one, wear shows instantly: the darker yarn fades first and leaves a lighter halo. So I check both elbows in raking light before I even look at the front. Here, nothing. And that also explains the rarity: club long-sleeves are produced in small quantities, and the ones that survive are rarely in this state.

📖 The year Zlatan landed at Old Trafford

Summer 2016: a thirty-four-year-old Swedish striker arrived on a free from PSG, took the number 9 and announced he'd come to conquer England. He kept his word for eight months.

🏆 Europa League and League Cup double. Manchester United won both competitions in 2016-2017, under José Mourinho.

🎯 Scorer in the League Cup final. Ibrahimović scored in the final against Southampton — his first English trophy.

🦵 The April injury. A serious knee injury ended his season in April 2017: he missed the Europa League final his team won without him.

🧵 A long-sleeve, and that changes everything — clubs produce only a fraction of their usual volume in long sleeves, and collectors know it. On a shirt already sought after for its nameset, that's what makes the difference.

👉 More Manchester pieces are waiting in my Manchester United shirts, and every one of the Swede's namesets is gathered in my Ibrahimović shirts.

🎯 Who is this shirt for?

← Scroll →

01

The Zlatan fan

His Manchester No.9, from the season of the English double — and in long sleeves.

02

The long-sleeve hunter

Made in small runs, rarely found with intact elbows. This one is.

03

The Red Devils supporter

A heather blue away with "THE RED DEVILS" hidden under the collar.

04

The all-year wearer

Long sleeves and a heather knit: it wears like a sports top, not like fancy dress.

Not sure? My Mystery Box offer is a great alternative — just write "Manchester United" in the order notes.

❓ Frequently asked questions about this shirt

Is the nameset original?

No, and I'd rather be straight with you: the shirt is 100% authentic, but the IBRAHIMOVIĆ No.9 nameset is a premium reproduction that I applied by hand in my workshop, in the official 2016-2017 Premier League font — the one with the lion built into the number. That's an advantage: it's brand new, guaranteed not to crack or peel.

And the Premier League sleeve patches?

Same thing: I applied them in the workshop at the same time as the nameset. So they aren't period patches and they aren't proof of anything. What proves the shirt is authentic is the referenced label, the heather knit, the embroidered crest and the "THE RED DEVILS" print under the collar — not what was added afterwards.

Is a long-sleeve really rarer?

Yes, considerably. Clubs produce the long-sleeve version in far smaller numbers than the short-sleeve, and it mainly goes to players and a minority of supporters. Add a wear factor on top: long sleeves suffer at the elbows and many end up in poor condition. A 10/10 example like this one isn't common.

How do you know it's really 2016-2017?

The inner label carries the adidas reference AI6703 and the production date 04/16. April 2016 matches the run produced for the 2016-2017 season: the two pieces of information line up, and you can check the reference yourself.

Does 10/10 mean brand new?

Here it means no flaws at all: no fading, no pilling, intact elbows, no stretching, complete inner labels. It doesn't have its original cardboard tags, but its condition is that of a shirt that has barely been used.

How does this S fit?

Measured flat: 47 cm pit to pit and 69 cm long. A fairly narrow, short adidas S. On a long-sleeve, remember to check the arm length too: compare it against a sweatshirt you already wear.

How much is shipping and how long does it take?

Sent within 48 working hours with Colissimo tracking (€5.99 in mainland France, free from €100). International rates and delivery times are detailed in my shipping FAQ. Returns accepted within 14 days if unworn.
