This shirt is 24 years old. One thing to know, and it is photographed: a faint pale yellow mark at the bottom of the white panel, on the back (photo 6). It did not come out in cleaning, so I flag it rather than hide it. The rest is remarkable for the age.

Shirt condition
Excellent for its age
The white has stayed clean, without the greyish veil found on almost every example from this year. The black of the raglan sleeves is deep, the gold trims have not dulled and the gold crest still shines. The BLANC No.6 nameset in black with white outline is intact, with no cracking, and the Champions League patch on the sleeve is crisp. The Vodafone sponsor is clean and the polo collar is undistorted. Only reservation: the small mark at the bottom of the back (photo 6).

📖 A hundred years of Manchester United, and a French world champion
There are season shirts, and there are shirts that celebrate something. This one carries the centenary of one of the biggest clubs in the world, with a Frenchman on the back.
🎂 1902-2002 — the centenary. The club took the name Manchester United in 1902. Umbro dressed the anniversary season with a specific gold badge and an all-gold crest, for that year only.
🇫🇷 Laurent Blanc at Old Trafford. World champion in 1998 and European champion in 2000, he joined United in 2001 for his final two seasons as a player. A rare nameset: few Frenchmen have worn this shirt.
🏟️ The European campaign. The starball on the sleeve places this example on Champions League nights, where United reached the semi-finals that season.
🎨 White, black and gold — black raglan sleeves, white panel edged in gold, polo collar: Umbro produced one of the most elegant away shirts in the club's history, and the only one carrying the centenary colours.

Is the small mark very visible?
It is a faint pale yellow shadow at the bottom of the white panel, on the back (photo 6), in an area usually tucked into the shorts. It did not come out in cleaning, but it is not spreading.
How do you know it really is 2001-2002?
The “1902 CENTENARY 2002” badge and the gold Umbro centenary label only appear on shirts from that season. The inner label even gives the bounds: July 2001 to April 2002.
Has the white yellowed?
No, apart from the mark flagged in photo 6. The white is clean at the collar, the shoulders and across the whole front, with no greyish veil or underarm halos. That is rare on this model.
