The sky blue is even, with no fading, and the white collar trimmed in navy is clean. The Etihad sponsor is sharp, the embroidered crest intact and the TOURE YAYA 42 nameset lies perfectly flat. I found no notable flaw: just the look of a shirt that has been worn with care.

Inner Nike label (photo 4): size S, style code 574863-489, production code HO130408SYS and full barcode
Embroidered crest (photo 3): golden eagle, three stars and Superbia in Proelio ribbon, dense and even stitching
Fabric: Dri-FIT knit with a fine waffle texture, identical across the whole body
Cut and finish: Pride In Battle printed inside the nape, two-tone ribbed collar, Authentic tag at the bottom left
Workshop note — Everything on the label lines up: code 574863 matches the 2013-2014 home shirt, the -489 suffix the sky blue colourway, and the HO13 prefix the late 2013 collection. The Pride In Battle wording at the nape, a translation of the club motto, is a detail specific to this model.
Yaya Touré and the 20-goal season
In the summer of 2013, Manchester City changed both kit supplier and manager: Nike replaced Umbro, Manuel Pellegrini succeeded Roberto Mancini. This sky blue shirt opens that new era.
2 March 2014, Wembley. In the League Cup final against Sunderland, Yaya Touré equalises with a curling long-range strike. City win 3-1 and lift the first trophy of the season.
On 11 May 2014, a 2-0 win over West Ham gives City their second Premier League title in three years. Touré ends the campaign with 20 league goals, an outstanding tally for a midfielder.
It is also the season City reach the Champions League round of 16 for the first time.
It is the English translation of Superbia in Proelio, the Latin motto on the crest ribbon.
Why this navy serif nameset?
It is the European typography, paired here with the Champions League and Respect badges on the sleeves. In the league, the nameset followed the Premier League format.
How can I check the shirt is authentic?
Read the inner label: code 574863-489, size S, code HO130408SYS and barcode. Then look at the crest embroidery and the Pride In Battle wording at the nape.
How does this S fit?
Close to the body: 47 cm pit to pit and 72 cm long. It will suit a slim S; if you are between sizes, compare carefully with one of your own shirts.
