The Etihad sponsor shows fine cracks on the E, the T and the bar of the H (photos 6 and 7). They are only visible up close and do not affect how the logo reads when worn.

- « Official Product » label: woven, serial number 003294980 printed in red (photo 4)
- Embroidered crest: golden eagle, three stars, ship and the motto « Superbia in Proelio », dense and even embroidery (photo 3)
- Umbro logo: white embroidered double diamond on the chest, Umbro « in England » label under the collar
- Cut and finish: crew neck lined with sky blue and white stripes, white sleeve cuffs, mesh side panels
Note from the Workshop — On City’s Umbro shirts of this period, the « Official Product » label carries a nine-digit serial number printed in red. I check the regularity of the digits and the weave of the label, then the fineness of the motto embroidered under the eagle.
Captain Tevez and the end of a 35-year wait
In summer 2009, Carlos Tevez crossed Manchester, moving from United to City. For the 2010-2011 season, Roberto Mancini handed him the captain’s armband.
He responded with 20 Premier League goals, level with Dimitar Berbatov at the top of the scoring chart. City finished third and qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history.
14 May 2011: at Wembley, City beat Stoke 1-0 in the FA Cup final with a Yaya Touré goal. Tevez lifted the trophy, the club’s first major honour since the 1976 League Cup.
This sky blue home shirt, sponsored by Etihad, is the one from that pivotal season, just before the first league title of 2012.
Frequently asked questions
Will the cracks on the sponsor get worse?
Not if you wash the shirt inside out at 30 °C, with no tumble dryer and no iron on the logo. These are surface micro-cracks, common on prints from this era.
Why did Tevez wear 32?
He already had that number at West Ham and then at Manchester United, and kept it when he joined City in 2009.
How can I check the shirt is authentic?
Look at the « Official Product » label and its red number, then at the embroidery of the crest and the Umbro diamond. These are the first points I check.
How does this L fit?
It measures 54 cm pit to pit and 73 cm in length. It is fairly wide but short: if you are tall, compare the length carefully with one of your own shirts.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
Shipped within 24-48 h with tracking: €5.99 in France, €9.99 to the EU, free from €99.99. You have 14 days to send the shirt back if it doesn’t suit you. All the details in my shipping FAQ.
