📖 2023-2024: Jürgen Klopp's last lap
This purple third belongs to a pivotal season at Anfield: the one where Jürgen Klopp announces his departure after nine years, and the one where a new midfield is built around a 22-year-old Hungarian signed from Leipzig. On the back, a name you can't mistake; on the collar, the number 97.
📅 Summer 2023 — Szoboszlai signs for Liverpool. Hungary's captain leaves RB Leipzig for Anfield and is handed the number 8, the one Steven Gerrard wore. A symbol the club does not hand out lightly.
📅 January 2024 — Klopp announces he is leaving. After nine seasons, a Champions League and a Premier League title, the German announces he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. Anfield turns a page.
📅 25 February 2024 — the League Cup at Wembley. Liverpool beat Chelsea 1-0 after extra time to win the EFL Cup, the final trophy of the Klopp era. This shirt is from that very season.
📅 The 97 in the collar. Framed by the two memorial flames, it recalls the 97 supporters who died at Hillsborough. At Liverpool, that detail counts more than any logo.

Is the shirt 100% authentic?
Yes. The Nike product code DX9822-568 is readable on the inner label (photo 4) and independently verifiable. Add to that the embroidered Liverbird, the 97 memorial at the back of the collar, the official Premier League lettering and the compliant sleeve patches. Lifetime authenticity guarantee.
What exactly is the flaw?
A tiny black mark, a few millimetres long, on the lower back of the shirt, visible close up in photo 6. It's the only flaw found: no holes, no stains, no lifting of the lettering. It isn't noticeable when worn.
What does the 97 in the collar mean?
It is the Hillsborough memorial: 97 Liverpool supporters lost their lives as a result of the 1989 disaster. The figure, framed by two flames, appears at the back of the collar on every official club shirt. It is also an excellent authenticity marker.
Why does Szoboszlai wear the number 8?
Because the club handed it to him as soon as he arrived in summer 2023. At Liverpool the 8 is Steven Gerrard's number: a strong symbolic legacy, which makes this print particularly sought after by collectors.
How does this Nike shirt fit in M?
In a fitted way, like the whole current Nike generation: 50 cm pit to pit and 73 cm long. An M matches a modern M worn close to the body. For a roomy or streetwear fit, go one size up.
