No flaws. On a chequered shirt, the first thing to check is the white between the red squares: the slightest colour bleed in the wash would show immediately. Here the white is clean and the red still sharp, with no pink haze. The squares line up perfectly across every seam, including between body and sleeves. The MODRIĆ 10 print is flawless, acute accent included, with no lifted edges. Embroidered HNS crest intact, EURO 2020 and RESPECT patches perfectly bonded, V-neck with no stretching, no pilling.

📖 The most recognisable chequerboard in football
Some shirts you identify from fifty metres away, without reading a single word. The Croatian chequerboard is one of them — and this one carries the number of the player who defined an entire generation.
🏆 Modrić, 2018 Ballon d'Or. He ended ten years of Messi-Ronaldo dominance, in the year Croatia lost the World Cup final. This shirt comes just after.
🎯 EURO 2020, played in 2021. Postponed by a year, the tournament kept its name and its “2020” patch. A calendar anomaly that makes this patch unique in the competition's history.
⚔️ The šahovnica. The red and white chequerboard is not a kit motif: it is the Croatian national coat of arms, worn as is on the chest since the national team's beginnings.
🎨 A blue that is not decorative — Nike printed the numbers in bright blue rather than black: red, white, blue, the three colours of the Croatian flag brought together on the shirt.

❓ Frequently asked questions about this shirt
Why does the patch say “2020” if the EURO was played in 2021?
Because the tournament was postponed by a year but kept its official name, “UEFA EURO 2020”, patches included. So this is genuinely the patch worn in matches, not a mistake.
Has the white gone pink in the wash?
No, and that is the first thing I check on a chequerboard. No bleed from the red into the white, no pink haze in the light squares. The contrast is as sharp as it was originally. The photos show the exact item sold.
Why is there no sponsor?
National team shirts never carry one: only the kit maker and the federation crest appear. That is also what makes these shirts easier to wear day to day than club shirts.
