No flaws. The charcoal grey is perfectly even, with no lighter patch at the shoulders — the first place an over-washed shirt gives itself away. The contrasting black sleeves show no pilling and no lifted edges, and the three white side stripes are crisp along their full length. The RÚBEN DIAS 66 print is flawless, including the tiny eagles at the base of each 6. The applied crest and the three embroidered stars are intact, with no pulled threads. The SAGRES band across the upper back is sharp, the V-neck is not stretched, and the UEFA patches are perfectly bonded.

📖 The 66 before Manchester
Before becoming one of the best centre-backs in the world at Manchester City, Rúben Dias wore the 66 in Lisbon. This shirt comes from there.
🦅 2017-2018, his first season in the first team. A product of the club's academy, he broke into the Benfica back line with an academy number — 66 — that he kept until he left.
💼 September 2020 — the move to Manchester City. He left Lisbon for England and was voted Premier League Player of the Season in his very first year. Shirts from his Benfica period have gained a lot of value since.
⭐ Three stars above the eagle. Each one stands for ten Portuguese league titles. Few European clubs can line up that many.
🎨 Charcoal grey with black sleeves — adidas went for a dark, understated away kit, a long way from the club's historic red. Collectors spot it instantly, because it looks like no other Benfica shirt.

Why the number 66?
It is the number Rúben Dias wore at Benfica, carried over from his time in the club's youth sides. He kept it until his transfer. A far less common print than the classic numbers — and therefore harder to find.
What do the three stars represent?
Each star above the crest stands for ten Portuguese league titles won by the club. They are embroidered separately from the eagle, with relief you can feel under your finger.
How do you know it is really 2017-2018?
The inner label carries the adidas reference BR9255 and the production date 03/17. March 2017 matches the first run of the shirt launched for the 2017-2018 season: the two line up.
