Fenerbahçe 2014-2015 Third Shirt - Kuyt N°11 (S)

The royal blue is bright and even, with no faded area. The crest and its three silver stars are intact (photo 3), as is the Turkish flag (photo 4), and the KUYT 11 printing is sharp. The flaw to know about is on the back: the silver Ülker sponsor is cracked across its whole surface (photo 7). It is typical wear for this kind of metallic print, and it is what sets the grade at 8/10.

Key facts about this piece

The Ülker sponsor on the back is cracked (photo 7): the silver print is crazed across every letter, but it stays perfectly readable and is not peeling. The rest of the shirt is clean. The KUYT 11 printing was applied in my workshop.

• The adidas label (photo 5) shows the date 08/14, the reference H78979 and batch number 059078: produced in August 2014, just before the 2014-2015 season started
• The crest is a heat-applied raised badge, with fine, regular ridges, a readable « Fenerbahçe Spor Kulübü 1907 » and three ribbed silver stars (photo 3)
• The Turkish flag is a textured raised badge with a white outline, matching the crest's finish (photo 4)
• The Climacool fabric has a honeycomb knit, tone-on-tone stripes on the front and a silver « Fenerbahçe » signature below the back collar (photos 2 and 7)

Dirk Kuyt, the Dutchman on the Bosphorus

After six seasons at Liverpool, Dirk Kuyt joined Fenerbahçe in summer 2012. The tireless Dutch forward, loved for his pressing, quickly became one of the Kadıköy crowd's favourites.

Turkish champion in 2014. Kuyt won the Turkish Cup in 2013, then the 2013-2014 Süper Lig with Fenerbahçe.

The 2014-2015 season. His last in Istanbul: Fenerbahçe finished second in the league, and Kuyt then went home to Feyenoord, where he ended his career with a Dutch title in 2017.

Three stars above the crest — they recall the Turkish league titles piled up by the club, one of the most decorated in the country.
