Schalke, Harit and the Champions League

In 2018, Umbro returned as Schalke 04's kit maker. The Gelsenkirchen club had just finished second in the Bundesliga and was back in the Champions League.

A round of 16 tie against Manchester City in February and March 2019. Beaten 3-2 at home, Schalke lost heavily in the return leg.

A difficult league season: coach Domenico Tedesco was replaced by Huub Stevens in March 2019, and the club finished 14th.

Amine Harit, signed from Nantes in 2017, was the team's playmaker. The Moroccan attacking midfielder had just played at the 2018 World Cup with Morocco.
