Sporting CP 2015-2016 Away Shirt - Gelson No.60 (M)

The fabric is spotless: deep black, even grey, bright green piping, no pilling or snags. The NOS sponsor on the front and the Super Bock on the back are complete. The only sign of wear is on the printing: light cracking in the white of the numbers, mostly on the 6 (photo 6).

What you need to know

The printing shows light cracking, visible up close in the white of the numbers (photo 6). It is firmly attached, with no peeling or missing parts. To keep it for a long time, wash the shirt inside out at 30 °C and never iron over the printing.

Gelson Martins, the winger from Alcochete

Born in 1995 in Praia, Cape Verde, Gelson Martins grew up in Portugal and came through Sporting's academy at Alcochete, the same one that produced Luís Figo and Cristiano Ronaldo. He established himself in the first team during the 2015-2016 season.

That season, Jorge Jesus had just left Benfica for Sporting. The club won the Supertaça in August 2015 against his former employer, then fought a tight title race until the last matchday.

May 2016. Sporting finished second with 86 points, just two behind Benfica.

Gelson then became a Portugal international and played at the 2018 World Cup, before joining Atlético Madrid and then AS Monaco.
