After an uneven league campaign marked by Rafa Benítez's sacking and Zinedine Zidane's arrival as coach in January 2016, Real Madrid rediscovered their identity and surged toward historic European glory.
📅 28 May 2016 — Champions League final, San Siro (Milan). Real Madrid beat Atlético Madrid on penalties (5-3 after 1-1) to win their 11th European Cup, the "Undecima". Cristiano Ronaldo converts the decisive penalty.
