Real Madrid 2015-2016 Away Shirt - Modrić No.19 (M)

Light wear on the Fly Emirates sponsor at the front: a few very fine cracks in the white print, visible only in macro (photo 6). Nothing else — no lifting, no missing letters. From a metre away it does not show.

📐 Flat measurements

Lay flat a shirt that already fits you well, measure it the same way and compare — vintage sizing is often very different from new.

Excellent, apart from the light sponsor wear flagged above. The heather grey is still even, with no shiny patches and no discolouration at the underarms, and the three volt shoulder stripes show no cracking and no loss of brightness. The white MODRIĆ No.19 nameset is complete and firmly bonded, with the two Real crests set at the foot of the 1 and the 9 and the acute accent on the C perfectly crisp. The gold FIFA World Champions 2014 patch is intact, with no flaking of the raised finish, and the LFP sleeve patch is firmly attached. Flawless monochrome crest, collar with no stretching. No odour, washed and inspected in my workshop.

• Original Adidas label photographed (photo 4): production date 04/15, reference AK2491 and internal code AV1007. April 2015 matches the 2015-2016 pre-season production exactly, and that three-line layout is how Adidas labelled shirts at the time
• The FIFA World Champions patch is raised gold and dated 2014 (photo 3): the Club World Cup badge won in December 2014, worn by Real until December 2015. It dates this shirt precisely to the first half of the season
• The Real crests are printed inside the digits (photo 5): two tiny crowned shields at the foot of the 1 and the 9. That is the signature of the official 2015-2016 LFP nameset, and copies stop at the number
• « hala madrid y nada más » printed under the back collar (photo 3): the club motto, in lower case, visible only when you lift the collar. An internal detail reproductions always skip

📖 La Undécima, with Modrić at the heart of it

This shirt belongs to the season Real Madrid went and got their eleventh European Cup, with a Croatian midfielder at the centre of everything.

🏆 La Undécima, in Milan. On 28 May 2016 Real beat Atlético in the Champions League final at San Siro, on penalties. The club's eleventh European crown.

⚡ Zidane took over in January. Appointed mid-season in place of Rafael Benítez, he won the Champions League five months later — his first trophy as a manager.

⭐ Modrić, the metronome. The Croatian ran Real's midfield through this period, before becoming in 2018 the first player in a decade to break the Messi-Ronaldo hold on the Ballon d'Or.

🎨 Heather grey and volt — Adidas broke with Real's classic away kits by dressing this one in heather charcoal, lifted by three volt shoulder stripes and an entirely monochrome crest. A bold call, and still one of the most recognisable away shirts of the Adidas era.
