This season marked Olympique Lyonnais's 7th consecutive French league title (2002 to 2008), the longest run of dominance in French football history. It was also the season of Karim Benzema's consecration.
📅 2007-2008 season — Karim Benzema, Ligue 1 Player of the Year. At 20 years old, the Lyon striker finished the league's top scorer and won the UNFP Player of the Year award, before joining Real Madrid the following summer.
