Lay flat a shirt that already fits you well, measure it the same way and compare — vintage sizing is often very different from new.

Flawless, nothing to report. The camouflage is vivid: the sky blue and the yellow have not moved, the black is still deep and the print is crisp across the whole surface, with no faded patch and no cracking. Both Lete and MSC sponsors are perfectly smooth, without a single lifting corner. The white HAMSIK No.17 nameset is flawless, with the club's N monogram set inside the 1 and the 7. Round embroidered crest with bright colours, sky blue V-neck with no stretching, and both white shoulder stripes intact. The open-knit side panels have no snags. Washed and inspected in my workshop, no odour.

• Original Macron label photographed (photo 4): head-office address Via Brodolini 5, Crespellano, Italy and the exact composition 86.4% polyester / 13.6% elastane. Copies almost always print a plain « 100% polyester »
• The neck label carries the club crest, not Macron's (photo 3): blue N shield, EU / ASIA 165-170 CM / US sizes and the www.macron.com line under the trim. That is the official double label of Napoli shirts from this period
• The camouflage is printed edge to edge (photos 1 and 2): the blue and yellow patches continue without a break across the shoulder seams and the sides. On copies the pattern shifts from one panel to the next
• The N monogram is built into the foot of each digit (photo 5): a small club logo inside the 1 and the 7. That is the signature of the season's official nameset
• Round embroidered crest, not printed (photo 3): the N is in dense blue thread on white, with a topstitched edge and a slight thickness under the finger

📖 The camouflage, Naples' most cult shirt

In 2013 Macron gave Napoli a fourth shirt in full camouflage, in sky blue, yellow and black. Total audacity — and since then one of the most sought-after shirts in Italy.

🎨 A design that shocked — then set a trend. Full camouflage on a Serie A shirt: when it launched, it divided opinion. Ten years on, it is quoted everywhere as one of the most memorable shirts of the decade.

🏆 Coppa Italia 2014. On 3 May 2014, Rafa Benítez's Napoli beat Fiorentina 3-1 in the Italian Cup final in Rome. Marek Hamšík was that team's captain.

⚽ Hamšík, the club's record man. Signed in 2007, the Slovak played more than 500 matches for Naples and became the club's all-time top scorer. The 17 belongs to him.

🎨 Blue, yellow and black — The pattern takes the club's two colours, sky blue and yellow, and projects them onto a black ground. Macron kept the sky blue V-neck with its two white shoulder stripes to tie the piece back to Napoli's classic identity, with the Lete and MSC sponsors laid flat across the centre.
