⚠️ Read this before you buy

This shirt is 18 years old and it has been lived in. Two things to know, both photographed: light wear on the Lete sponsor print (photo 6, faint gaps in the red and the lettering) and a small dark mark on the back, below the collar (photo 7). That is why it is graded 8.5 and not 10.

Shirt condition

Very good for its age

The azzurro has stayed bright, with no fading and no underarm halos — remarkable for a 2007 shirt. The white trims on the flanks, sleeves and hem are all intact, with no yellowing. The white LAVEZZI No.7 nameset is crisp, the “SSC NAPOLI” marking below the collar is clean and the Lega Calcio Serie A patch on the sleeve is spotless. Notched crew collar undistorted, seams sound. The two reservations: the Lete sponsor wear (photo 6) and the small mark on the back (photo 7).

100% AUTHENTIC

✦ Authenticity guaranteed for life

Item checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If an item bought from me is ever identified as a counterfeit, I refund it in full. Guarantee with no expiry date.

  • Original Diadora label (photo 4): the black and fluo yellow band with size equivalences across four markets — ita XL, usa L, uk L, asia 186cm. A format Diadora only used in this period
  • Lega Calcio Serie A TIM patch on the sleeve: the tricolour ball of the Italian league at the time. That patch design has changed since, dating the shirt to within a couple of seasons
  • Three distinct Napoli crests: the large one on the chest, a small one at the base of the number and a third, tiny one stitched at the hem on the back. Copies stop at the first
  • “SSC NAPOLI” marking below the collar: printed in small white capitals above the player name. A detail reproductions leave out or move
  • Real photos of the exact shirt you receive, never stock images — full method in my authentication guide

🛠️ Workshop note — Look at the lower back in photo 1: the two white trims are not straight. They run down in a double curve from the armpits and meet at the hem, where a third tiny Napoli crest sits exactly at their intersection. That line requires a specific pattern: copies take the easy route with straight bands.

📖 Naples come back up, and the Pocho arrives

This is the shirt of a club that came a long way back. Three years earlier Naples were playing in the third division after going bankrupt. In 2007 they return to the top flight.

⬆️ 2007-2008 — back in Serie A. After the 2004 bankruptcy and the drop to Serie C1, Naples string together promotions and return to the first division. The San Paolo fills up again.

🇦🇷 Lavezzi, the first idol of the revival. The Argentine arrives that summer and immediately becomes the crowd's favourite. He would wear the Naples number 7 for five seasons before joining PSG.

🏟️ Eighth place for a promoted side. Naples finish in the top half in their first season back — the starting point of the rebuild that would lead to the Champions League four years later.

👕 The last Diadora — pure azzurro, curved white trims, notched collar: the Italian brand signed off with one of its final Naples kits before handing over. A transitional shirt, and sought after for exactly that.

❓ Frequently asked questions about this shirt

Is the sponsor wear significant?

It is visible close up: the red of the Lete band shows fine marks and the white letters a few gaps (photo 6). Nothing is peeling and nothing will come off in the wash. From a metre away the sponsor still reads perfectly.

What about the mark in photo 7?

A two-millimetre dark spot on the back, below the collar. It did not come out in cleaning, so I flag it rather than hide it. Apart from the sponsor, it is the only mark on the shirt.

Has the azzurro faded?

No, and that is rare on this model. The blue has stayed bright and even, with no washed-out areas or underarm halos. The white trims have not yellowed either.

Is this shirt authentic?

Yes. Original Diadora label with multi-market size equivalences, official Lega Calcio patch, three distinct Napoli crests and the “SSC NAPOLI” marking below the collar. Guaranteed for life.

How does this XL fit?

Measured flat: 58 cm pit to pit and 76 cm long. The label reads “ita XL” but also “usa L”: expect a large L or a modern XL depending on the fit you like.

How much is shipping and how long does it take?

Dispatched within 48 working hours with tracked Colissimo delivery (€5.99 in mainland France, free over €100). Details on my shipping FAQ. Returns accepted within 14 days if unworn.
