Shirt condition
Excellent condition
The teal is deep and the tone-on-tone topographic pattern is sharp all over. The red trims on the collar and sleeves are bright, and the Standard Chartered sponsor and Liver Bird are intact. Only point noted: a tiny snag on the front, above the sponsor (photo 6). The lettering is complete and lies flat.

Key facts about this piece
A tiny snag, the size of a pinhead, is visible above the sponsor (photo 6): one slightly pulled stitch, no hole. It disappears into the shirt's pattern. Nothing else to report.

Workshop note — The 377 suffix of code DM1835 refers to this teal colourway, and the FA22 batch matches the autumn 2022 collection, the one that included this season's third shirt. I also look at the pattern: it runs across the seams without breaking from one panel to the next, which takes a careful cut.
Virgil van Dijk, the rock of Anfield
Signed from Southampton in January 2018, Virgil van Dijk became the most expensive defender in history at the time. With him, Liverpool won the 2019 Champions League and the 2020 Premier League; he finished second in the 2019 Ballon d'Or, behind Lionel Messi.
The 2022-2023 season opened with a 3-1 win over Manchester City in the Community Shield in July 2022. The league was harder: the Reds finished fifth.
5 March 2023, Anfield: Liverpool thrash Manchester United 7-0, the biggest win in the history of the rivalry.
In the summer of 2023, Van Dijk was handed the captain's armband. This teal third shirt belongs to his last season before taking charge of the dressing room.
Frequently asked questions
Can you see the tiny snag when wearing the shirt?
No. You have to look for the spot in photo 6 to find it; once worn, it disappears into the topographic pattern.
Why "Virgil" and not "Van Dijk" on the back?
Since joining Liverpool, the Dutch defender has worn his first name on his shirts. It is the name on all his match shirts with the Reds.
How can I check the shirt is authentic?
Look at the inner label: code DM1835-377, size L and batch FA220306SYG. You can check the reference yourself. Then check the Liver Bird embroidery and the pattern woven into the knit.
How does this L fit?
True to size: 54 cm pit to pit and 75 cm long. If you wear L on the high street it will fit you; if you like a loose fit, it also works for a large M.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
