Key facts about this piece
The label is dated January 2010 (photo 4), six months before the final: the world champions' star above the crest (photo 3) was therefore added after the title. The shirt itself is the one from the South African campaign.
100% AUTHENTIC
✦ Lifetime authenticity guarantee
Checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If a piece bought from me ever turned out to be non-authentic, I refund it in full. No expiry date: only original pieces, never modern reissues.
Inner adidas label (photo 4): date 01/10, code P47902 and batch number, in the 2010 adidas format
ClimaCool construction: breathable mesh side panels, anatomical seams (photo 2)
adidas finishes: gold embroidered logo, R.F.E.F. initials under the collar, round badge at the hem (photo 2)
Workshop note — On this model, I look at the crest embroidery first: the medallions, the crown and the motto must be readable with no bleeding. I then cross-check the label date with the P47902 reference: everything is consistent.
Xavi and the Johannesburg triumph
In 2010, Xavi was La Roja's metronome. Already named player of the tournament at Euro 2008, he set the tempo for a Spain side that kept the ball away from every opponent.
16 June 2010, Durban: Spain opened with a 1-0 defeat to Switzerland. They would not lose again.
7 July 2010, semi-final: from a Xavi corner, Puyol headed the only goal against Germany.
11 July 2010, Soccer City: Iniesta scored in the 116th minute against the Netherlands. Spain were world champions for the first time in their history, and this red shirt with gold stripes remains the one of that epic run.
Why is there a star on a shirt made before the final?
The label reads January 2010: the star was added after the title on 11 July. It is not used as proof of authenticity, which relies on the label, the crest and the construction of the shirt.
Was the World Cup patch added?
Yes, the 2010 FIFA World Cup sleeve patch was applied in the workshop. It is not used as proof of authenticity either.
How can I check the shirt is authentic?
Start with the small inner label: date 01/10 and code P47902, which you can check yourself. Then look at the fine embroidery of the RFEF crest.
How does this L fit?
Rather close-fitting. 52 cm pit to pit and 77 cm long: if you like a loose fit, compare carefully with a shirt of your own.
How much is shipping and how long does it take?
