📖 2014-2015: the captain's final season
Some shirts matter for a result. This one matters for a farewell. In 2014-2015, Steven Gerrard played his seventeenth and final professional season at Liverpool before joining the Los Angeles Galaxy. This shirt, in Champions League configuration, is from his last European campaign with the Reds.
📅 16 May 2015 — Gerrard's last match at Anfield. A stadium on its feet, a guard of honour, and the end of a story that began in 1998. A moment every Reds supporter can place exactly.
🏆 More than 700 matches in the same shirt. Liverpool captain for over a decade, Gerrard played his entire English career at one club. A case that has become vanishingly rare in modern football.
⭐ 25 May 2005 — Istanbul. Three-nil down at half-time against AC Milan, Liverpool came back and won their fifth European Cup on penalties. Gerrard, captain and scorer, lifted the trophy. That title is what the “5” badge on this shirt's sleeve stands for.
🕯️ The 96 memorial. Under the collar, two eternal flames and the number 96 honour the victims of Hillsborough — a cause Gerrard, who lost a cousin in the disaster, carried throughout his career.
