Season 2011-2012. Atletico Madrid celebrates one hundred years of its red-and-white stripes — adopted in 1911 — and Nike wrote the anniversary into the shirt itself: on the neck tape, in capitals, “1911-2011 · 100 AÑOS DE ORGULLO ROJIBLANCO”. It is also the season a Colombian striker signed from Porto the previous summer changed the club's recent history. This shirt carries his name.

The season

Radamel Falcao joined Atletico in the summer of 2011. His first Madrid season ended with a Europa League final won in Bucharest against Athletic Bilbao, where he scored twice — the first European trophy of a run that would completely relaunch the club. This particular shirt is the league version: it carries the LFP patch on the right sleeve, the one sewn on for La Liga fixtures, not the European patch.

What the photos show

• Photo 1 — the back: red and white stripes, FALCAO lettering and number 9 in blue outlined in white, Spanish flag at the nape.
• Photo 2 — the front: no front sponsor, blue Nike swoosh, embroidered crest, LFP patch, and the neck tape with the centenary marking. The Nike AUTHENTIC hologram label is visible at the lower side seam.

Authentication

The sewn inner label was cut out by a previous owner — common on worn shirts, and we say so plainly. Authentication therefore rests on every other element, all verifiable in the photos:

• the neck marking “1911-2011 · 100 AÑOS DE ORGULLO ROJIBLANCO”, specific to the 2011-2012 season alone: it is the strongest dating element on the piece, and it makes the missing label largely secondary;
• the production marking printed on the inner seam, still present despite the cut (photo 4);
• the high-density embroidered crest, with sharp outlines and even relief;
• the official LFP patch sewn to the sleeve;
• the official lettering with the club crest built into the body of the digit — a detail reproductions almost always get wrong.

Condition — 9.5/10

Excellent overall condition. Colours are strong, the lettering is intact with no cracking or lifting, the crest embroidery is flawless, the fabric has no holes or stains. The only flaw is the cut inner label, shown in photo 4: it affects neither the wear nor the outward look of the shirt, but we document it so you know exactly what you are buying.

Why is no authenticity code listed?
Because the label that carried it was cut out. We would rather state nothing than invent a reference: the dating of this shirt rests on the centenary marking, which is at least as conclusive.

Does the cut label devalue the shirt?
It largely explains its price, lower than a complete example in the same condition. For a shirt meant to be worn or framed, the impact is nil.

Is this a Europa League shirt?
No. The sleeve carries the LFP patch, the Spanish league one. This is the 2011-2012 La Liga configuration.

Is there a front sponsor?
