📐 Flat measurements

Width (pit to pit) 49 cm
Length (shoulder to hem) 72 cm

Lay flat a shirt that fits you well, measure it the same way and compare — vintage often sizes differently from new, and this is the most reliable way to avoid a mistake.

8/10

Shirt condition

Very good, with signs of use

I would rather be direct: this shirt has been worn, and it shows in two specific areas that I photograph close up. The Fedcom sponsor has cracking and small losses along the edges of the letters (photo 5), and the Macron shoulder logos are noticeably worn, with part of the heat-pressed material gone (photo 6). On the other hand: no holes, no stains, the black has not faded, the embroidered ASM crest is flawless and the JAMES No.10 nameset is intact with no lifting. This is an honest 8/10 — a shirt to wear and collect, not a display piece, and the price reflects that.

100% AUTHENTIC

✦ Authenticity guaranteed for life

Item checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If an item bought from me is ever identified as a counterfeit, I refund it in full. No expiry on that guarantee.

  • Markers checked: raised embroidered ASM FC crest with the crown, period-correct heat-pressed Macron logo, “as monaco fc” printed below the collar on the back, zipped collar specific to this Macron generation
  • Historical consistency verified: Macron as AS Monaco's kit supplier with Fedcom as shirt sponsor — a combination specific to this period, impossible to find on a modern shirt
  • Official Ligue 1 nameset with the LFP crests built into the bottom of the numbers (photo 4) — a detail unofficial namesets consistently get wrong
  • Full method: authentication guide

🛠️ Workshop note — The sponsor and shoulder-logo wear is actually an argument for authenticity: Macron's 2013 heat transfers aged badly, and this characteristic degradation is very hard to imitate on a recent counterfeit. A flawless print on a twelve-year-old shirt would be far more suspicious.

📖 2013-2014: the wild season on the Rock

No recent Ligue 1 season made as much global noise. This black shirt belongs to an AS Monaco freshly promoted from Ligue 2 and spending without limits to challenge PSG.

📅 Summer 2013 — the transfer window that stunned Europe. Newly promoted, Monaco signed James Rodríguez and João Moutinho from FC Porto, and Radamel Falcao from Atlético Madrid. A Ligue 1 club suddenly sat at the top of the global market.

📅 May 2014 — runners-up in France. In their first season back in the top flight, AS Monaco finished 2nd in Ligue 1 behind PSG and qualified for the Champions League.

📅 June-July 2014 — James' World Cup. In Brazil the Colombian finished top scorer of the World Cup with 6 goals and scored a volley against Uruguay that won him the 2014 Puskás Award. The whole world discovered Monaco's No.10.

📅 July 2014 — off to Real Madrid. A few weeks after the World Cup, James left Monaco for Real. He wore this shirt for one season only.

👑 James Rodríguez — Porto, Monaco, Real Madrid and Bayern: he remains one of the most gifted Colombian players of his generation. A “JAMES 10” nameset on a Monaco shirt covers just twelve months of the club's history — which is exactly what makes it rare.

🎯 Who is this shirt for?

← Scroll →

01

The short-window collector

One single James season at Monaco: this nameset existed for twelve months only. Those short windows are exactly what gives a vintage shirt its value.

02

Anyone nostalgic for the 2013 window

Falcao, James, Moutinho: the summer Ligue 1 shook Europe. This shirt is the direct keepsake.

03

Anyone who wants to wear, not display

8/10 with a weathered sponsor: the shirt has lived, and that is exactly what people looking for an authentic everyday piece are after.

04

The Colombia supporter

James' club shirt from just before the 2014 World Cup and the Puskás. The chapter before global fame.

Not sure? My Mystery Box offer is a great alternative — just add “AS Monaco / Ligue 1” in the order notes.

❓ Frequently asked questions about this shirt

Is the shirt 100% authentic?

Yes. Raised embroidered ASM crest, “as monaco fc” below the collar, official Ligue 1 nameset with LFP crests and LFP sleeve patch. Real photos of the exact item sold, lifetime authenticity guarantee.

Is the sponsor and shoulder wear significant?

It is real and I am not playing it down: cracking and small losses on the Fedcom letters (photo 5), Macron shoulder logos well worn (photo 6). That is what takes the grade from 9 to 8. The fabric, crest and nameset are sound, and the price accounts for it.

Has the black faded?

No. It is the first thing I check on a dark shirt: the black has stayed even, with no greyish patches. Photos are taken in neutral light, unretouched.

Why “JAMES” and not “RODRÍGUEZ”?

This is the official nameset: James Rodríguez always played under his first name, at Monaco as at Real Madrid. A “RODRÍGUEZ” nameset would in fact be a red flag.

How does this shirt fit in size S?

Macron shirts run rather small. Flat measurements are listed above (49 cm width, 72 cm length): compare them with a shirt you already own. More detail in my size guide.

How much is shipping and how fast?

Shipped within 48 working hours with tracked Colissimo (€5.99 within mainland France, free over €100). International rates and delivery times are detailed on my shipping FAQ. Returns accepted within 14 days if unworn.
