No flaws found. The yellow is bright and perfectly even, with no fading at all — which is rare on a twenty-year-old yellow shirt. The O2 sponsor is solid and supple, with no cracking or lifting at the edges (close-up in photo 3). The embroidered crest is flawless, gold cannon and clean outlines. The charcoal shoulder panels and the V-neck show no stretching. No holes, no stains, no bobbling.

📖 2005-2006: the last at Highbury, the first in a final
Some seasons are turning points, and this is one of them. 2005-2006 was Arsenal's last season at Highbury after 93 years, before the move to the Emirates. And that same year brought the first and only Champions League final in the club's history. This yellow shirt travelled with the Gunners to every away ground that season.
📅 17 May 2006, Stade de France — FC Barcelona 2-1 Arsenal. Arsenal's first Champions League final. Down to ten men from the 18th minute after Jens Lehmann's red card, the Gunners still went ahead through Sol Campbell before losing it late on. A night that still haunts north London.
📅 A European record that still stands. On the way to that final, Arsenal went ten Champions League matches without conceding a single goal — 995 minutes of shut-outs, a competition record.
📅 Thierry Henry, Premier League Golden Boot. Captain that season, he finished as the league's top scorer with 27 goals. He also scored Arsenal's last ever goal at Highbury, on 7 May 2006.

Why does Arsenal play in yellow away from home?
It's a club tradition dating back to the 1960s, made famous by the 1979 FA Cup final won in yellow against Manchester United. The « yellow away » has returned regularly ever since and is as much part of Arsenal's visual identity as the red with white sleeves.
