📐 Flat measurements

Width (pit to pit) 56 cm
Length (shoulder to hem) 77 cm

Lay flat a shirt that fits you well, measure it the same way and compare — vintage sizing often differs from modern kits, and even more so on a player-issue cut. It's the most reliable way to get it right.

9.5/10

Shirt condition

Excellent condition

Excellent condition: deep navy, vivid fuchsia stripes, clean white collar and cuffs, crisp Lacazette No.17 nameset and a spotless Ligue 1 patch. One point of transparency, and it is minor: very light cracking on the printed adidas logo on the chest, which I photographed close up (photo 6). No holes, no stains.

✦ Authenticity guaranteed for life

Item checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If an item bought from me is ever identified as a counterfeit, I refund it in full. Guarantee with no expiry date.

  • adidas OL 2011-2012 authentication: original inner adidas label dated 03/11 (photo 4), consistent with March 2011 production for the 2011-2012 season; Formotion marking at the hem, specific to adidas' technical line for players; embroidered Olympique Lyonnais crest (photo 3), official Ligue 1 LFP patch and LFP logos built into the nameset
  • Real photos of the exact item sold, never stock images
  • Full method: authentication guide

🛠️ Workshop note — Two things to know about this piece. First, it carries no chest sponsor: that is a configuration specific to player allocations, and it gives the shirt a far cleaner look than the retail version. Second, the Formotion marking and the cut indicate adidas' technical line of the period — lighter fabric, articulated panels at the shoulders and sides.

📖 2011-2012: Lyon's last major cup, and Lacazette's early days

This shirt belongs to a season Lyon supporters keep close: the one of the club's last major trophy. And on the pitch, a twenty-year-old striker raised in Lyon was starting to force his way in.

🏆 28 April 2012 — OL win the Coupe de France. Victory in the final at the Stade de France. It remains the last major trophy the club has lifted, which gives every shirt from this season a particular value in Lyon.

⭐ Alexandre Lacazette, 20 years old, No.17. A pure product of the Lyon academy, he was stringing together his first professional seasons. Three years later he would be Ligue 1's top scorer with 27 goals, before joining Arsenal for a record fee in OL's history.

🏟️ The Gerland era. 2011-2012 was still played at the Stade de Gerland, which OL left in 2016. A long-sleeve shirt from this period is literally a piece from winter nights at Gerland.

🎨 An away kit that stands out. Navy, fuchsia stripes, white shirt collar: this design looks like nothing else in Lyon's wardrobe. In long sleeves and without a sponsor, it is harder still to find.

🎯 Who is this shirt for?

← Scroll →

01

The Lyon supporter

The 2012 Coupe de France season, the Gerland era, and the No.17 of a boy raised at the club. Three reasons to keep it.

02

The long-sleeve hunter

Long-sleeve shirts are produced in far smaller numbers than short sleeves. In vintage, they are noticeably harder to find.

03

The player-issue enthusiast

Formotion marking, no sponsor, technical cut: the markers of a player allocation, not a retail shirt.

04

The gift that lands

With no chest sponsor, this shirt wears day to day like a simple navy top. Far more versatile than it looks.

Not sure what to pick? My Mystery Box offer is an excellent alternative — just write “OL” in the order notes.

❓ Frequently asked questions about this shirt

Is the shirt 100% authentic?

Yes. adidas OL 2011-2012 authentication carried out in my workshop: original inner label dated 03/11 (photo 4), Formotion marking, embroidered Olympique Lyonnais crest, Ligue 1 LFP patch and LFP logos in the nameset. Real photos of the exact item sold, lifetime authenticity guarantee.

Why does this shirt have no sponsor?

Because it is a player allocation piece, supplied without the main chest sponsor applied to retail shirts. It is a classic marker of “player stock” shirts, and many buyers actually prefer the cleaner look.

What is the exact condition, and is there a flaw?

9.5/10. The only flaw is very light cracking on the printed adidas chest logo, photographed close up (photo 6) and invisible at normal viewing distance. No holes, no stains, nameset and patch spotless.

How does this shirt fit in size XL?

Flat measurements: 56 cm pit to pit, 77 cm in length. The player-issue cut is slimmer than a retail XL: this shirt corresponds more to a modern L / XL worn close to the body. Measure a shirt you already wear and compare.

What is Formotion technology?

It was adidas' premium technical line in the early 2010s, reserved for player shirts: a pre-shaped cut, articulated panels and lighter fabric than the fan version. The marking appears at the front hem of the shirt.

How much is shipping and how long does it take?

Dispatched within 48 working hours with Colissimo tracking (€5.99 within mainland France, free from €100). International rates and delivery times are detailed in my shipping FAQ. Returns accepted within 14 days if unworn.
