📖 2020-2021: the season Vinicius silenced the doubts
In the summer of 2020, Vinicius Junior was still the promising young Brazilian whose end product people argued about. One European night changed the conversation — and this home shirt is its uniform.
📅 6 April 2021 — Real Madrid 3-1 Liverpool. In the Champions League quarter-final first leg, Vinicius scored twice against the Reds. The night he became a genuine Real Madrid starter in everyone's eyes.
🏟️ A season apart. With the Santiago Bernabéu under redevelopment and the pandemic ongoing, Real played home matches at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium. A unique parenthesis in the club's recent history, and this shirt belongs to it.
👑 Zidane's last season. Zinedine Zidane left the Madrid bench at the end of this campaign, after a second place in La Liga and a Champions League semi-final. The end of a cycle.
🌟 Vinicius Junior — signed from Flamengo in 2018, since become one of the best wingers in the world and a scorer in the 2022 Champions League final. Shirts from his formative Madrid years, printed "VINI JR.", are sought after precisely because they date from before the breakthrough.

Why does the printing say "VINI JR." and not "VINICIUS"?
That is the official lettering Real Madrid uses on match shirts: the player's nickname followed by "JR.". A detail unofficial printings rarely reproduce correctly (photo 5).
What does the "13" patch mean?
It is the UEFA "Badge of Honour", reserved for clubs that have won at least five European Cups. Real Madrid had thirteen at the date of this shirt — the total has grown since, which dates the piece precisely.
