In August 2015, Didier Drogba surprised the football world by signing with Montreal Impact as a designated player, a few years after lifting the Champions League with Chelsea. His presence boosted the Canadian club's profile, which reached the MLS Eastern Conference final in 2016.
🏆 Didier Drogba — Chelsea legend (4 Premier League titles, 2012 Champions League winner with the decisive final penalty), iconic captain of Ivory Coast, two-time African Footballer of the Year. His spell at Montreal (2015-2016) was part of the wave of transfers that helped raise MLS's international profile.
