Lay flat a shirt that already fits you well, measure it the same way and compare — vintage sizing is often very different from new.

Almost new: I only take off half a point for a very slight patina on the white, invisible in the photos and with no staining at all. No yellowing at the collar or underarms, the ghost crest jacquard reads perfectly in the fabric, and the Emirates Fly Better sponsor is smooth with no cracking. The gold BENZEMA No.9 Ballon d'Or edition nameset is flawless, with the photo montage intact inside the 9 and no lifting corners. Embroidered crest with bright colours, white polo collar with navy and purple trim and no stretching, button present. Washed and inspected in my workshop, no odour.

• Original Adidas label photographed (photo 4): production date 02/23, reference HF0291 and internal code 2DL002. HF0291 is the exact reference of the 2022-2023 Real Madrid home shirt
• The gold nameset is the Ballon d'Or edition (photos 1 and 5): BENZEMA in matte gold and a 9 filled with a photo montage of the player, produced after his October 2022 award. That nameset existed for him alone, and only that season
• The fabric carries a ghost crest jacquard (photos 3 and 5): Real crests of several sizes are woven tonally into the white, visible only at certain angles. Copies print the pattern flat
• The polo collar has a double navy and purple trim (photo 3), with a matte white button sewn through four holes and a lined placket. The three shoulder stripes are in a bright blue distinct from the collar trim
• Crest embroidered edge to edge (photo 3): the gold crown and the MCF monogram are in dense thread, with a sharp outline and a clean reverse under the finger

📖 The Ballon d'Or year

On 17 October 2022, Karim Benzema received the Ballon d'Or after an extraordinary 2021-2022 season. Real Madrid dedicated a unique gold nameset to him, worn on this home shirt.

🏅 Ballon d'Or 2022. The first Frenchman to win it since Zinédine Zidane in 1998, Benzema was rewarded after a 44-goal season and a Champions League title with Real.

✨ A nameset created for one player. Gold lettering and a 9 filled with a montage of his greatest moments: this commemorative nameset existed only for Benzema, and only in 2022-2023.

👑 His last Madrid season. In June 2023, after fourteen seasons and 354 goals, Benzema left Real Madrid. This is the shirt of his farewell.

🎨 White, navy and purple — Adidas wove Real crests tonally into the white, then added a buttoned polo collar with a double navy and purple trim and three blue shoulder stripes. A home shirt that reads plain from a distance and highly worked up close.
