PSG 2021-2022 Home Player Issue – Messi No.30 (S)

⚠️ Read this before buying

This S measures 46 cm across: that is the Pro cut, not the retail cut. The Dri-FIT ADV version issued to players is cut close to the body, with a technical knit that barely stretches sideways. A "regular" S is closer to 50 cm. In practice: this shirt suits a slim build, or someone who wants a fitted look. If you wear S and like it comfortable, skip it or pick another piece from the shop — I'd rather say so now than after delivery.

📐 Flat measurements

46 cm is narrow, and it is not a measuring error. Lay flat a shirt that fits you well, measure it the same way and compare: if yours is over 50 cm, this one will feel distinctly tighter.

The navy is deep and even, with no lightened patch on the shoulders. The Dri-FIT ADV knit, with its chevron-embossed pattern, shows no pilling or pulled threads — the first place a tired shirt gives itself away, because the relief snags. The white nameset has no cracking, including on the Ligue 1 logos built into the digits. The white-red-white ribbed collar is neither yellowed nor stretched, the tricolour sleeve cuffs hold their shape, and the Ligue 1 patch lies perfectly flat. The authentication band at the hem is intact.

The PSG Messi shirt is one of the most counterfeited in the world. Here is what I checked:

• Inner label photographed (photo 5): reference CV7851-411, size S. The 411 suffix corresponds to the navy colourway of the 2021-2022 home shirt — a Pro-version reference, not a replica one
• The knit is chevron-embossed, not smooth (photo 4). Run your hand over it: the fabric has a regular geometric relief that catches the light differently by angle. Copies print this pattern flat, or drop it
• The gold authentication band is stitched at the lower right of the shirt, with micro-text readable under a loupe. No retail replica carries one, and fakes reproduce it blurred
• The Ligue 1 logos are built into the 3 and the 0, printed in the same pass as the digit (photo 3). On a counterfeit they are missing, offset, or stuck on top

📖 The number 30 of Paris

On 10 August 2021, Lionel Messi signed for Paris Saint-Germain. The 10 belonged to Neymar, so he took the 30 — the number of his Barcelona debut, twenty years earlier. Few namesets tell a story that clearly in two digits.

🇦🇷 The first Paris season. After twenty-one years at Barcelona, Messi discovered a new league at thirty-four. The season was mixed on the pitch but historic in the shops: the rush on his shirt emptied stocks within hours.

🏆 French champions 2021-2022. PSG won the title with Messi, Neymar and Mbappé lining up together — a trio that will not be seen again.

🔟 The 30, not the 10. That detail makes this nameset identifiable in a second: Messi never wore the 10 in Paris. Eighteen months later he was leaving for Miami.

⚙️ Player issue, not retail — the same cut and knit given to the squad, with the stitched authentication band. It cost nearly twice as much new and resells accordingly.
