📐 Flat measurements

Width (pit to pit) 43 cm
Length (shoulder to hem) 61 cm

Please read these measurements before ordering: this is a genuinely small XS (43 cm across, 61 cm long), suited to a slim build, a women's fit or a tall teenager. Lay flat a shirt that fits you well, measure it the same way and compare.

Shirt condition

Excellent condition

Excellent condition for a 2008 piece: no holes, the red is still deep, the NANI No.17 printing is flawless. Two points flagged in full transparency — a few micro marks of light wear on the lower body (see photo 6), and the inner label whose printing has worn away through washing (photo 4), which is common on Nike shirts of this generation.

Size XS (see measurements above)
Brand Nike (Nike FIT technology)
Season 2008-2009 (Euro 2008 cycle)
Version Red home, green collar and trims
Printing NANI No.17 (FPF crests inside the digits) + number on the chest

100% AUTHENTIC

✦ Lifetime authenticity guarantee

Item verified by hand in my authentication workshop. If an item bought from me is ever identified as a counterfeit, I refund it in full. Guarantee with no expiry date.

  • Nike Portugal 2008 authentication: embroidered FPF crest to period specification (photo 3), official gold swoosh, Nike FIT construction with original green trims, official printing with Portuguese crests inside the digits (photo 5)
  • Real photos of the exact item sold, never stock images
  • Full method: authentication guide

🛠️ Workshop note — I'll say it plainly: on this example the inner label printing has worn away, so I cannot give you a verifiable product code (photo 4). Authentication here rests on the physical elements: crest embroidery, fabric structure, official quinas printing. My lifetime guarantee applies in exactly the same way.

📖 2008: Nani, Manchester's prodigy in the national team

This red shirt with its green collar belongs to the Euro 2008 cycle, when the Portuguese national team was in full transition: the Figo generation fading, that of Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani taking over.

🏆 21 May 2008 — Manchester United, European champions. Weeks before the Euro, Nani won the Champions League with Manchester United alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. He was 21.

📅 19 June 2008 — Portugal 2-3 Germany. Portugal's Euro 2008 run ended in the quarter-final against Germany, the eventual finalists. The end of a cycle for the national team.

👑 Nani — winger brought through at Sporting, then Manchester United (2007-2014), 2008 Champions League winner and European champion with Portugal in 2016. A No.17 that means a great deal to a whole generation of Portuguese supporters.

On authenticity

🎯 Who is this shirt for?

← Scroll →

01

Anyone looking for a small size

Authentic period XS shirts are rare: most vintage shirts in circulation are M or L. 43 cm across is a genuinely small cut.

02

The Portugal supporter

The red and green of the Seleção, the embroidered FPF crest, the quinas printing: all the Portuguese DNA on a period piece.

03

The Nani fan

2008 Champions League winner and 2016 European champion: a far less common printing than that of his famous team-mate.

04

The smart budget

An authentic 2008 national team shirt under €70: the price accounts for the worn label and the micro marks, and everything is photographed.

Not sure? My Mystery Box offer is a great alternative — just add "Portugal" in the order notes.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Is the shirt 100% authentic?

Yes, it was verified by hand in my workshop. One thing to know: the inner label printing has worn away (photo 4), so I cannot provide a product code to check. Authentication rests on the crest embroidery, the fabric structure and the official printing. Lifetime authenticity guarantee, as on every item I sell.

Does this XS really run small?

Yes. 43 cm pit to pit and 61 cm long: noticeably smaller than a modern S. It will suit a slim build, a women's fit or a tall teenager. Take the time to compare with a garment you already wear.

Why is there a number on the front?

It is a classic national team convention: the number is repeated on the chest as well as the back. An instant marker of an international shirt rather than a club one.

Is the flagged wear visible?

These are a few micro marks on the lower body, which I photographed close up (photo 6). At normal wearing distance they are not noticeable. That is what explains the 9/10 grade rather than 10.

How much is shipping and how fast?

Shipped within 48 working hours with tracked Colissimo (€5.99 within mainland France, free over €100). International rates and delivery times are detailed in my shipping FAQ. 14-day returns if unworn.
