Napoli 2020-2021 Third Shirt - Mertens No.14 (XXL) - BNWT

📐 Flat measurements

Lay flat a shirt that already fits you well, measure it the same way and compare — vintage sizing is often very different from new.

New, never worn, with its Kappa card tag still attached at the collar (photo 4). The anthracite is perfectly even, the embossed technical knit is intact and the fuchsia pink sleeve panels show no marks and no creasing. The Lete, MSC and Kimbo sponsors are smooth and perfectly bonded, as is the light blue, pink-outlined MERTENS No.14 nameset with the N monogram inside each digit. Flawless raised N crest, intact tricolour roundel, pink V-neck with no stretching and crisp SSCN lettering at the back of the collar.

Careful: the label says XXL but the Kappa Kombat cut is very fitted. Measured flat it sits closer to a standard XL (54 x 78 cm) — do compare the measurements above, or read my sizing guide.

• Kappa card tag still attached (photo 4): reference 311233W, colourway CNA A04 — BLUE DEEP-PINK, model KOMBAT PRO 2021 NAPOLI, size XXL and barcode 8033038201721. The original tag, never removed
• Complete inner fabric label (photo 5): serial number 1854882998, style 311233W, colour A04, factory 18548 and lot 4629190. Kappa assigns a unique serial to each piece — copies always reuse the same one
• The GARA marking sits under the neck label (photos 2 and 3): that is the match specification, the shirt the players wear, more fitted and in a lighter knit than the fan version
• The tricolour roundel is stitched on the chest (photo 3): the Coppa Italia winners' coccarda, which Napoli wore throughout 2020-2021 after their June 2020 title. No shirt from any other season carries it
• The N monogram is built into the foot of each digit (photo 6): a small round crest inside the 1 and the 4. That is the signature of the season's official nameset

📖 The season of the roundel

The 2020-2021 third shirt came out of an unusual season: Napoli had just won the Italian Cup, wore the tricolour roundel, and their stadium was renamed after Diego Armando Maradona.

🏆 The 2020 Italian Cup. On 17 June 2020, Napoli beat Juventus on penalties in the Coppa Italia final. The club therefore wore the tricolour roundel on the chest throughout the following season.

⚽ Mertens, the club's all-time top scorer. It was during that very cup run, in June 2020, that the Belgian passed Marek Hamšík to become Napoli's record goalscorer.

🕯️ The Maradona season. In December 2020, after Diego Maradona's death, the San Paolo stadium was renamed Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. This is the shirt of that season.

🎨 Anthracite, fuchsia pink and light blue — Kappa built the third shirt on an embossed anthracite grey, lifted by a fuchsia pink V-neck and cuffs and light blue shoulder panels. A bold combination, a world away from the club's classic azzurro.
