Mint condition

No flaws. On an orange this saturated, the slightest fading would jump out — there is none, and the fade to blue-purple stays crisp all the way down the shirt. The fine horizontal stripes are intact, with no washing moiré. The TOURE YAYA 42 print is flawless, including the Premier League lions tucked inside the numbers. Both Premier League patches are perfectly bonded, no lifted edges, no yellowing of the white outline. Crisp circular crest, V-neck with no stretching, no pilling, no snags.

100% AUTHENTIC

✦ Authenticity guaranteed for life

Item checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If an item bought from me is ever identified as a counterfeit, I refund it in full. Guarantee with no expiry date.

  • Inner label photographed (photo 4): Nike reference 776901-817, size S and batch HO160307NAG. The -817 suffix matches the orange colourway of the 2016 range
  • The Premier League patch is the new purple lion logo, introduced for the 2016-2017 season to replace the gold lion on blue. It is the most reliable dating marker on this shirt: a City third with the old patch cannot be from this season
  • The circular crest — ship, Lancashire rose, “18” and “94” either side — is the one the club adopted at the end of 2015. It is embroidered, not printed, with clear relief under the finger
  • The fade is woven, not printed: the blue stripes run through the knit and appear identically on the inside. On a fake, the inside stays plain orange
  • Real photos of the exact item sold, never stock images — full method in my authentication guide

🛠️ Workshop note — Look closely at the name in photo 5: it reads “TOURE YAYA”, not “YAYA TOURE”. That is not a mistake, it is the order officially registered with the Premier League, exactly as it appeared on his shirt every weekend. Prints added later almost always flip the two words — it is my first check on this player. Zoom in on the 4 and the 2 as well: the crowned Premier League lion is printed inside each number.

📖 The year Guardiola arrived in Manchester

A fluorescent orange third that fades into purple, from the most closely watched season in the club's recent history: 2016-2017 is the year Manchester City changed era.

📅 Pep Guardiola's first season. He arrived in the summer of 2016 and immediately rewrote the club's playbook. City finished 3rd in the Premier League — the only trophyless season of his Manchester spell, before the haul that followed.

⚡ The Yaya Touré – Guardiola stand-off. Left out of the squad early in the season, the Ivorian returned to the starting eleven in the autumn and became decisive again. A pivotal season for him, two years before he left the club.

🦁 The new Premier League logo. 2016-2017 was the first season of the purple lion on the sleeves. A detail collectors spot instantly.

🎨 A third City has never revisited — saturated orange up top, blue-purple at the bottom, blended through stripes. A world away from the usual sky blue and white, and exactly why it became one of the club's most sought-after thirds.

🎯 Who is this shirt for?

← Swipe →

01

The Yaya Touré fan

The most famous number 42 in English football, printed in the official “TOURE YAYA” order. Two years before he left City.

02

The design lover

An orange-to-purple fade for a sky blue and white club: one of Nike's boldest calls of that period.

03

The Premier League spec hunter

Both purple lion patches and lions inside the numbers: exactly the setup used on league weekends.

04

The condition purist

10/10 on a 2016 fluorescent orange: the least forgiving colour there is. Here, not a mark.

Not sure? My Mystery Box offer is a great alternative — just write “Manchester City” in the order notes.

❓ Frequently asked questions about this shirt

Why does the print say “TOURE YAYA” and not “YAYA TOURE”?

Because that is how he was registered with the Premier League, and therefore how it appeared on his shirt. It is an authenticity marker: prints added later by resellers almost always flip the two words.

How do you know it is really 2016-2017?

Three elements line up: the Nike reference 776901-817 on the label, the batch HO160307NAG (2016 production), and above all the purple lion patches, which appeared precisely that season.

Has the orange faded?

No, and that is the first thing I check on a colour this bright. No washed-out areas, no shoulder haze, no marks. The fade to blue is as sharp as day one. The photos show the exact item sold.

Is this shirt authentic?

Yes. Referenced and dated Nike label, embroidered crest with relief, woven fade visible on the inside of the shirt, official Premier League patches and lion-filled printing. Lifetime authenticity guarantee, full refund if a doubt is ever proven.

How does this S fit?

Measured flat: 48 cm pit to pit and 70 cm long. A 2016 Nike S, fitted like that whole generation. If you wear a S and prefer a roomier fit, size up.

How much is shipping and how long does it take?

Shipped within 48 working hours with Colissimo tracking (€5.99 in mainland France, free over €100). International rates and delivery times are detailed in my shipping FAQ. Returns accepted within 14 days if unworn.
