Two small things to know: a few micro-pills on the front, in the area below the sponsor (photo 6), and two or three pulled threads along the bottom hem (photo 7). No holes, no open seams — normal wear from a shirt that has been worn, and nothing more.

📐 Flat measurements

Width (pit to pit)51 cm
Length (shoulder to hem)72 cm

Lay flat a shirt that already fits you well, measure it the same way and compare — vintage sizing is often very different from new.

Shirt condition

Excellent condition

The volt — that very particular fluorescent yellow-green — has kept its intensity, and that is the critical point on this colour: one hot wash dulls it, yet here it is still bright and even. The black sleeve fade is crisp, with no washed-out areas. The TOURE YAYA No.42 nameset is perfect: sharp edges, MCFC crests intact inside both digits. The Etihad Airways sponsor is smooth, with no cracking. Spotless embroidered badge, Champions League and RESPECT patches firmly stitched. The only reservations are the pilling and pulled threads documented above.

100% AUTHENTIC

✦ Authenticity guaranteed for life

Item checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If anything you buy from me is ever identified as a fake, I refund it in full. The guarantee never expires.

  • Nike label photographed (photo 4): product reference 658882-368, barcode 888408994554 and batch HO15 (Holiday 2015). 658882 is the reference for the 2015-2016 Manchester City third
  • The MCFC crest is printed inside the 4 and the 2 (photo 5): two tiny volt badges on black, built into the foot of each digit. A detail fake namesets do not carry
  • This is the OLD club crest (photo 3): the eagle, the ship and the motto « Superbia In Proelio ». Manchester City changed its badge in late 2016 — a shirt carrying this crest cannot be later, which dates it on its own
  • The black sleeve fade is dotted, not a smooth gradient: up close you see a grid of black dots that gradually thickens (photo 1). On a fake it is a smooth printed gradient
  • Real photos of the exact shirt you receive, never stock images — full method in my authentication guide

🛠️ Workshop note — Watch out for one trap on this shirt: it reads « TOURE YAYA », not « Y. TOURÉ ». The Premier League let players choose how their name appeared, and Yaya Touré had his printed in that order, without the accent. Reproductions sold online almost always get it wrong and print « TOURE » alone or « Y. TOURE ». If you see the name in two words in this order, you are looking at an official nameset.

📖 Yaya Touré, volt and City's first European semi-final

A fluorescent yellow shirt for a sky-blue club: this 2015-2016 third remains one of the most recognisable of Nike's Manchester era. It also belongs to a pivotal season.

🏆 League Cup 2016 — City beat Liverpool on penalties. A Wembley final decided in the shootout. Yaya Touré converted the decisive kick: the last trophy of his spell at the club.

⭐ First Champions League semi-final. Manchester City reached the European last four for the first time in their history, before losing to Real Madrid, that season's winners.

🎯 The end of an era. Manuel Pellegrini's last season in the dugout, and Yaya Touré's last great campaign. Guardiola arrived in summer 2016 and changed everything.

🎨 The last shirt with the old crest — The eagle, the ship and the Latin motto disappeared in late 2016 in favour of the current circular badge. This third is therefore one of the last City shirts to carry the historic crest, which makes it a clean dating marker for collectors.

🎯 Who is this shirt for?

← Swipe →

01

The Yaya Touré fan

No.42, one of the most dominant midfielders in Premier League history, in his last great season.

02

The crest collector

The old MCFC badge, retired in late 2016. A period marker you cannot find on any recent shirt.

03

The bold-colour lover

Fluorescent volt, black sleeve fade: Nike never made a City third this loud again.

04

The Champions League hunter

Starball and RESPECT: the configuration of the European run that took City to the semi-finals.

Not sure? My Mystery Box offer is a great alternative — just add « Manchester City » in the order notes.

❓ Frequently asked questions about this shirt

Is the pilling a problem?

No. These are a few tiny fibre balls in the area below the sponsor (photo 6), typical of a honeycomb knit that has rubbed. A fabric shaver removes them in a minute. I would rather show them than shave them off before the photo.

Why does the nameset read « TOURE YAYA » and not « TOURÉ »?

Because that is the official nameset. Yaya Touré had his name printed in that order at Manchester City, without the accent. It is actually a good authenticity test: copies almost always print « TOURE » alone or « Y. TOURE ».

How do you know this is the 2015-2016 season?

Three cross-checks: the Nike reference 658882-368 on the label, the HO15 batch (autumn 2015) and the old MCFC crest, replaced in late 2016. The volt design was also only used that season.

What are the sleeve patches?

The Champions League starball on one side, the RESPECT armband on the other. That is the European-match configuration: in the Premier League those positions carry the league patches. So this one is the Champions League version.

How does this M fit?

Measured flat: 51 cm pit to pit and 72 cm long. A 2015 Nike M, true to size with decent length. If you normally wear M it will fit; if you like it loose, go one size up.

How much is shipping and how fast?

Dispatched within 48 working hours with tracked Colissimo (€5.99 in mainland France, free over €100). International rates and delivery times are detailed on my shipping FAQ. 14-day returns if unworn.
