Shirt condition

Excellent condition

Lille's red is bright, the navy V-neck and shoulders show no fading, and the sponsor's white logo is complete. The T.DE MELO 9 lettering is crisp and flat. Two small flaws to report: a small snag near the sponsor (photo 6) and a small pulled thread on the back (photo 7), hence the 9/10 rating.

Workshop note — The product code is not legible on this shirt, but the numbered "Official Product" label sewn inside is one of Umbro's markers from this era. I also look at the V-neck stitching: even and pucker-free. The lettering and both patches were applied in my workshop: I never use them as proof.

Lille 2012-2013, a new stadium and Europe

French champions and Coupe de France winners in 2011, LOSC began their first season in the new Grand Stade, today's Stade Pierre-Mauroy, in August 2012.

The Champions League. Lille played the group stage against Bayern Munich, Valencia and BATE Borisov.

Túlio de Melo, the Brazilian striker. Part of the 2011 double-winning squad, he brought power up front over several seasons in Lille.

In the league, the Dogues finished sixth in Ligue 1.

Are the lettering and patches original?

The T.DE MELO 9 lettering and the Champions League and RESPECT patches were applied in my workshop. I never count them as proof of authenticity: that proof is about the shirt alone.

Are the snag and pulled thread visible?

Barely: you have to look closely to spot them (photos 6 and 7). I prefer to show them in close-up, and the price reflects them.

How can I check the shirt is authentic?

Look at the numbered "Official Product" label sewn inside, then at the Umbro diamond embroidery and the V-neck stitching: both should be even.

How does this XL fit?

True to size: 57 cm pit to pit and 76 cm long. If you wear an XL in regular shops, it will fit you.
