Excellent overall condition: the blaugrana colours are vivid, no holes, no stains, no fading. The MESSI No.10 nameset is perfect (photo 5), the embroidered crest and Rakuten print are immaculate. What I want to flag: a few tiny bobbles and small light specks on the front, below the sponsor and on the lower part of the shirt (photos 6 and 7, shot in macro). You cannot see them at wearing distance, but they are there — that is what makes it a 9 rather than a 10.

📖 The shirt Messi never wore
This shirt tells a particular story: that of a tenth number that never happened. Barcelona unveiled their 2021-2022 home kit while everyone still believed Lionel Messi was about to extend his contract. A few weeks later, he signed for PSG.
📅 8 August 2021 — the tearful goodbye. FC Barcelona announced that extending Messi's contract was impossible. His farewell press conference, in tears at the Camp Nou, is one of the defining images of the decade. He left after 21 years, 672 goals and a record nobody will match.
📅 August 2021 — the date on the label. An unsettling detail: this shirt's production reference (photo 4) carries the date 210809, that is 9 August 2021. The day after the announcement of his departure, to the day. This shirt was literally born on the day Messi's Barcelona ended.
📅 A nameset owned as a tribute. I applied the No.10 in the official 2021-2022 Champions League font (photo 5), with the Barcelona crests built into the digits. The result is the shirt millions of fans wanted to see: Messi, blaugrana, one more season.

Did Messi actually wear this shirt?
No, and I would rather be perfectly clear about it: Messi left FC Barcelona on 8 August 2021, before the 2021-2022 season began. He never played a competitive match in this model. The shirt is an authentic Nike from that season, and the No.10 nameset was applied in my workshop in the official Champions League font. It is a tribute piece, sold as such.
Is the shirt itself authentic?
Yes, completely. The original Nike label is photographed (photo 4) with product code CV7891-428 and reference HO210809, consistent with the 2021-2022 collection. Embroidered crest, stripes woven into the fabric, official UEFA patches. My lifetime authenticity guarantee covers the shirt.
Is the nameset good quality?
It is Barcelona's official 2021-2022 Champions League font, with the club crests built into the bottom of the digits (photo 5). It is heat-pressed in my workshop, exactly like a store nameset: clean edges, no lifting, and it survives inside-out washing at 30°C.
How does this Nike shirt fit in size S?
Actual flat measurements: 46 cm pit to pit, 71 cm in length. It is a genuinely narrow S, as the 2021 Nike cut is very slim. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one. More benchmarks in my sizing guide.
