📖 Season History:
Transferred for 16 million euros, André-Pierre Gignac arrived in Marseille with the heavy status of being Mamadou Niang's successor. In his first season, the Berre pond native won his first major trophy: the Coupe de la Ligue (a victory against Montpellier). Although OM finished as vice-champions of France behind Eden Hazard's LOSC, this season marked the beginning of the passionate love story between "APG" and the Vélodrome, as he would later become one of the club's best goal scorers.
