The red and black stripes are vivid, and the round neck is clean and keeps its shape. The embroidered three-star crest and the Umbro logo are intact. The TOURE YAYA 42 print lies perfectly flat. Only one thing to point out: light cracking on the Etihad sponsor print, visible up close (photo 6).

✦ Authenticity guaranteed for life
Checked by hand in my authentication workshop. If a piece bought from me ever turned out not to be authentic, I refund you in full. No expiry date: only original pieces, never modern re-editions.
“Official Product” label: numbered 007734260 in red, specific to the club's licensed shirts (photo 4)
Embroidered crest: eagle, three stars and the “Superbia in Proelio” motto, dense and even embroidery (photo 3)
Umbro logo: double diamond embroidered in gold thread (photo 3)
Cut and finish: ribbed black round neck, grey mesh inner lining, even stripes from shoulder to hem
Workshop note — On City's Umbro shirts from this period, the “Official Product” label carries a serial number printed in red, sewn into the neck lining. I check the regularity of the digits and the weave of the label.
The season of the first title
In 2011-2012, Roberto Mancini's Manchester City fought Manchester United for the title until the very last second. This red and black striped shirt was the away kit of that historic season.
Yaya Touré, signed from FC Barcelona in 2010, drove the midfield. On 6 May 2012 at Newcastle, he scored both goals in the 2-0 win that kept City top before the final day.
13 May 2012, Etihad Stadium: 2-1 down to QPR at 90 minutes, City scored twice in stoppage time. Sergio Agüero's goal at 93:20 won the title, the first since 1968.
City finished ahead of United on goal difference. An ending that remains legendary in Premier League history.
Only up close. These are fine lines in the yellow Etihad print (photo 6), typical of a shirt that has been washed and worn. They are not flaking and can't be seen from a distance.
Why “TOURE YAYA” and not “YAYA TOURE”?
That is how his name appeared on the back at City, surname then first name, to tell him apart from his brother Kolo Touré, who was in the same squad.
How can I check the shirt is authentic?
Look at the “Official Product” label and its red number, then the embroidery on the crest and the Umbro logo. These are the first things I check.
How does this M fit?
It measures 52 cm pit to pit and 70 cm in length. It is a standard M: if you wear M on the high street, it will fit you.
