I found nothing to fault. The mint green is even, with no fading, and the fine woven stripe stays sharp. The Telekom logo, the crest and the adidas shoulder stripes are spotless, and the buttoned collar has kept its shape. The FC BAYERN MÜNCHEN, 11 and JAMES printing lies perfectly flat.

Workshop note — CF5410 is adidas's reference for Bayern's 2018-2019 away shirt in supporter version, and the 09/18 date fits the season. On this model I look at the collar placket: a real sewn button, not a printed decoration. I never count the printing among my proofs.

Kovac's double and the end of an era

In his first season in charge of Bayern, Niko Kovac inherited a squad in which James Rodríguez, on loan from Real Madrid since 2017, played his second and final year in Bavaria.

18 May 2019, Munich. Bayern beat Frankfurt 5-1 on the final day to claim a seventh German title in a row. Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry both scored in their last Bundesliga home game.

25 May 2019, Berlin. A week later, Bayern beat Leipzig 3-0 in the German Cup final to complete the double.

What do the four stars mean?

In Germany, stars count league titles: the fourth star is reserved for clubs with at least twenty championships, and Bayern is the only one to wear it.
